I think anything sugary would do the trick. My LO would go crazy anytime I drank or ate anything sugary.

it also might make baby so active that he or she is moving so much you can't see the sex or get accurate measurements.

Orange juice or other juice (grape has more sugar) can make the baby more active, but that doesn't mean the baby will entirely change position. The juice is suggested before a nonstress test, to make sure the baby is awake and moving for the kick count portion.

Anything cold will get the baby going. Drink a cold and sugary and he/she will be doing backflips.

Yes, but it's not guaranteed (our little one didn't show us her goods on the first try). The oj gives the baby a boost of energy.

Another one that I've heard that helps is drinking a cold coke/pepsi. Just take a few sips priot to going in - the cold and caffeine usually helps.
Hope you get an ultrasound tech who is patient enough to try a few times but be prepared if you cannot find out the sex the first time. Good Luck!

Ive never heard of that before, it might be an old wise tale.
It might work, i've heard of other tales before and tried them and they worked!

Whether or not it's true doesn't matter. What you need to do, B., is ask the nurse on the telephone if they want you to drink orange juice or not. If you get the baby moving a lot while doing the ultrasound, they may have trouble with the scan. Ultrasounds are used to measure parts of the baby's body, like the size of the head, some of the internal organs, etc. If the baby is moving too much, they can't get good information. Or they might measure wrong and think that something is wrong with the baby.

The baby's health is more important than whether it's a boy or a girl. You most likely will have several ultrasounds during the course of your pregnancy. At least one of these ultrasounds will show which sex you are going to have. So be patient and help your ultrasound technician by doing what they want so they can determine the health of your child.

Good luck,
D.
