My boyfriend lost his job a month ago and his wisdom teeth are coming in and are hurting him badly. I need to find an oral surgeon that will do surgeries for free.
His whole face is swollen and may be abcessed...

What can I do next?

I had a friend use their services and I did as well. It was awhile ago. Extractions were free.

I went to a dentist in Mexico to get my wisdom teeth and get a root canal taken care of, and I paid 1/4 the price I would have in the United States. I was 18 and in college and didn't have insurance. My parents didn't have much money so I was on my own to pay for it. Everything was fine and I felt great and I even went out dancing that night when I got home. However, I would not recommend getting crowns down there. They used crappy glue and my crown fell off on the drive home! But it was still worth the trip since my wisdom teeth were so cheap to get pulled.

If his face is swollen, I am 99% sure it's abcessed. I've been going to the dentist since I could remember. I have had multiple teeth abcess (genetics). I've had 5+ root canals, tons of fillings, etc. I feel like an expert sometimes. He needs to get to a doctor immediately! When I was 15 my face swelled out and my dentist made me go the hospital, yes the hospital, and I had to get an I.V. and have the tooth pulled immediately. Your boyfriend needs to get help ASAP. Abcessed teeth can be fatal. I would just start calling dentists and ask if they would be willing to do a payment plan. I don't mean to scare you but I want to be realistic.
Best of luck.

Call a dentist, tell him the situation, and get your boyfriend to the first one willing to work with you ASAP. This is a dental emergency, and you can worry about the money part later. Most dentists will establish a payment plan, or lead you to an independent financing situation through their office.

Take care,

Al

Hi A.. I'm sorry to hear about your boyfriends job AND his teeth. He can try going through ACCHCS. Here's a website that might be helpful. http://www.freemedicalcamps.com/freeclinic.php
I saw someone elses post saying that the County Hospital will extract the tooth for $100, but you have to wait in line early and you have to pay upfront.
Someone else also mentioned Spencer Dental. Look that up on switchboard.
You may also want to try this website.

He will probably have to qualify for AHCCCS - which is Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System. The number is 602/264/0422 or 1/800/962/6690.
Good Luck, and I hope he heals quickly. In the meantime he needs to probably do quite a bit of natural antibiotic healing to help with his infection before it gets a whole lot worse. Or can he afford for at least a one time visit to a Dr. or dentist for an antibiotic prescription? He might not even need an oral surgeon...maybe he just needs a root canal, which a dentist can perform.
