Looking for a good resale shop to sell my toddler's long unused baby clothes and toys. Just wondering if there was one that was significantly better than the others with pricing or service.

What can I do next?

I am a huge kids resale seller and shopper. As far as selling, I start at Kid to Kid, then take what they don't want to Once Upon a Child. When I'm in a hurry, I go to Cutie Patootie since I live in Frisco. I keep bins in my attic marked "Spring", "Fall", and "Garage Sale" (which usually just means "donate" but I have good intentions!). I just toss the kids' clothes and toys in the correct bin, and when the correct bin is full I drop by the stores. I've done consignment before and it's kind of fun because you get checks from them every few weeks, but I don't have a store near me anymore. And the one that I used to go to went out of business and I lost my money. I just heard of a resake store in The Colony called Children's Time Again. It's kind of far for me, but I'm going to give it a try. And, one of these days, I'm going to conquer eBay because I know you can make more money that way... J.

P.,

I own The Mulberry Bush in Wylie, Texas.
We are a Childen's and Maternity Consignment Store. Consignment stores are not he same as a resale store, my consignment store does a 50/50 split, you will get paid after it sales, a resale store pays you up front but they only pay about 10% of what they think they can sell it for.
Consignment or Resale - You make more money on consignmet put you do have to wait until it sell. Resale you don't get as much money and you get your money up front.

Hope this helps, and I do have alot of customes from McKinney.

I personally like Cutie Patootie in Frisco. You drop off a bin, then they call you in a few hours and make you an offer of cash or credit to the store. Anything they don't take they will donate. You can also consign strollers and other items. I love to shop there as well. They are very friendly, I just recommend calling to find out what season they are taking and drop off hours.

I've also purchased & sold items on Craigslist. It's free to post. Baby & kids stuff usually does really well. Some people sell individual items or sell clothes as a group. You might make more money than a resale shop. I took 3 boxes of nice baby clothes to Once Upon a Child in Plano a couple months ago & they only purchased 4 or 5 items for less than $5.

I highly recommend Divine Consign, as well. I've consigned there 3 or 4 times now and have made at least $300 each time just selling my son's clothing and toys. (They recently added girls junior sizes which helps me clear out my daughter's closet, too.) I've never come home with toys that didn't sell.

I buy many of my preschooler's birthday and christmas presents at their sales.

Hundreds, if not thousands, of customers see your stuff as opposed to one buyer at a resale shop or just a handful at a garage sale. The volume is amazing.

If I'm looking for something in between the Divine Consign sale dates I usually go to Once Upon a Child or Kid to Kid.

Good luck!

The Ladies at Kid to Kid off Eldorado are so friendly and nice. I have been to Once Upon a Child in Plano and they aren't as friendly. They treat you like they are doing you a favor by helping you. They also take forever to get back with you on a price. Kid to Kid took just minutes with a fair price. Call ahead though to make sure they are taking your sizes. I know they take more larger toddler sizes that sell out quicker. (2T and up)

I have tried both Kid 2 Kid and Once upon a Child and didn't feel like either one were reasonable with their offers. For the past 3 years I've been saving my items for the Spring and Fall Divine Consign sales. You make 70% of your asking price and although you have ot tag your own items I feel that it's worth it. You will want to create an account at :
http://www.divineconsign.net/
It's also a great place to shop!!
