They are opening a Goddard School very near my home, and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them. They certainly sound good according to their website, but I'd rather hear from real people with real experience with them. I'd love to hear whatever stories you have.

What can I do next?

We are moving from Portland to Indiana and I heard from a mother of 2 in Indiana that the Goddard schools are very good - hopefully that is a general indicator that their entire chain is reputable. Of course it all depends on the teachers and director, but hope the general commentary helps with your decision. Good luck!

Some very close friends of ours sent their little girl to Goddard for preschool and kindergarten and they are extremely picky. They really liked it and plan on sending their younger daughter once she reaches preschool age. Great facilities, lots of great extras (dance, music, etc.), safe, well maintained, great teachers.

As an educator, I would suggest you research the Tucker Maxon Oral School. www.tmos.org
I don't work there, but it is amazing resource for children pre-k - grade 5.

My son attends Tucker Maxon and my husband is the PE teacher (a good PE program is VERY hard to find in Portland but they offer it at Tucker!) They also have piano classes and after school sports. It is a great school, with the smallest student to teacher ratio in Portland.
