Hi Everyone. I work full time, but I'm in need of a little extra money for some "extras". Has anyone participated in online surveys for cash? Have you found a company that is legitimate? I'm a little nervous to give up any information or pay for something unless I know it really does work. I'd love to hear some advice on this. I'm not interested in selling anything, etc. due to the nature of my day job.

I do surveys for money when I have time. Opinionoutpost.com is a good one! There are no hidden fees or anything. Just easy! I am also a member of mypoints.com and you get points for reading e-mails and such. You can use the points for giftcards at lots of different places. Check it out!! Go to American Consumer Opinion -- they do not ask for money from you or personal info, they are legitimate marketing company looking for your opinion. They don't pay much, once in a while I'll get a check for $4 or $6, no great shakes, but they're fun to take and i'm a big mouth who loves to share her opinion :) There was another person on this site who was talking about a company called AlphaBuzz, but i haven't checked them out, ithink they are more the kind whre you GO to a place to try out a product and get paid like 50 or 100$, if you have the time try it out. :)

#1 - Do not pay them any money. If they claim to have stacks of cash to give away, why would they need your money?
#2 - Be very careful about the information you give to them. Things as simple as an address or phone number can unlock information for them that can compromise your identity and security.
#3 - If they ask for your social security number, credit card numbers, don't do it.
#4 - If the site requires you to make a user name and password be wary. A lot of people make the mistake of picking the same user name and password for every site they go to. Net scammers are savvy and use your information to hack and phish. Your user name or password should be different for every site you go to.
I also do American Consumer Opinion as well as Pinecone research. Between the 2 of them, I might get $4 or $5 each month. They are definitely not big money makers but kind of fun sometimes. I do a couple other ones where you collect points for each survey then can cash in the points for cash once you have enough. Again, none of these pays much of anything.
If you have to pay money it's a scam.
Most of the ones that I've tried pay, but it takes a long time to make money, takes up a lot of your time for little money at the time. I probably spent an hour doing them last month and am getting paid $10. I'm in process of getting paid, still waiting for the check.
