Old National Geographics

I have a TON of old National Geographice magazines. Does anyone have any ideas what to do with them ? I know I can put them into one of the recycling bins at the schools but thought I would explore any options for donating them somewhere. Do you know if any of the shelters could use them ? Thanks !

What can I do next?

Donate them to a daycare or elementary school. They can use them to cut out animals and words to make collages

It's been a long while since I looked there for them but Half Price Books used to have a healthy supply of National Geographic. They might want to buy them from you.

Contact your local public school and ask to speak with someone in the Geography or Social Studies Department. They may love to have them as resources or as reading material for kids with free time during class. If they don't want them, the Art Department might want them to use to make collages.

See if middle school or high school will take them for student use.

Check with your local nursing homes or retirement centers.... I'll bet they would love to have them! The seniors love to look at magazines.

Umm, no i know our library would put them straight to the bookstore to sell, so just take it to them. we wouldn't use them for our collection at all.

Half Price Books pays for all old books and mags, but they def pay for NatGeos.

You might check to see if Half Price Books has a market for them. They buy books and magazines for re-sale.

As the Director of a Child Development Center, we have had some donated and they are a priceless gift to add to our cirriculum. So, think about that. Little children do not always have that gift and what knowledge they hold!
