Okay Ladies, I Have No Will Power over Sweets

I'll admit it load and clear. I love to eat sweets! I'm in love with sweet things. But I also want to lose these last 10 stubborn pounds of baby fat. I am not really overweight according to the bmi calculations but when i see a huge belly jiggling I know i'm out of shape. I have to come up with a diet/exercise plan. I have to resist the sweets. Does anyone have any suggestions of a plan they've done that worked for them? I would appreciate any help

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

I want to thank you all for your advice! I decided to start weight watchers and I love it! I am still eating my weight watchers sweets, which satisfied my sugar craving and is only 2 points! I can't believe how easy this diet is. I also started exercising daily and drinking water water water. So far I have lost 5 lbs in one week! Wow! Thanks again

Hello K., I read a book by Kevin Trudeau and he has a lot of good information. the one with weight loss explains why people don't loose weight and crave sweets is that there is too much yeast in there body so by doing a yeast detox helps and i tried it. You can get the detox at any health food store. After i did the detox i lost only 5lbs but i didn't want sweets. so i feel there is some truth in it. who knows give it a look and see what you think. good luck.

Unfortunately, there is no "miracle pill" that will melt fat off while you watchh TV (how I wish there was!!!!) But If you join a gym, like the Y, they have free childcare with your membership fees. I love going there, not only to work out, but also to get a break from our son. I love him to death, but I stay at home and need a little time to myself some days. As far as the sweets go, try dried fruit. It may not sound very appealing, but when the water is taken out of the fruit (drying process) the flavors and natural sugars of the fruit are intensified. So something like dried cranberries are very sweet, as well as dried plums, prunes, raisins, etc. For your first attempt at dried fruit, I would definately choose something from the list above over a banana or apple. Those are not as sweet and if you want to satisfy your sweet tooth, those may not do it at first.
If you find yourself craving a chocolate chip cookie, eat one, bot only 1 or 2. If you deprive yourself, you'll get to the point where you have to have it and you'll go off the deep end when you finally get it. Remember, everything in moderation. I hope this helps. Good luck!!!

K.,
I am in the same boat! I have also about 10lbs left with a jiggle. I gained 50lbs with me second child. Since then I have found coffee mate has a great creamer that is vanilla/caramel. I make a pot in the morn drink one hot then put one in the freezer for the pick me up in the hot afternoon. I dont have to use as much sugar and eat a good for me lunch (on a small saucer like the kids use.) Also the 100 cal packets of cookies are good for snacks. This gives me energy to do situps with my 20lb girl on my stomach, and then leg lifts while she flies on me shins holding her hand. She loves it. Even my 5yr old boy that weighs 40lbs loves to help out. Yea that can burn some fat! Exercising with my children has been the best for toning. And they love it when I get on the floor with them. Also teaches the little one how to count. I know no Dr. would never tell you this coffee diet is ok but it worked for me and consult your OB Dr. if any Dr. they should be able to help, and you would not be the first to ask.Good luck!

Try "Body For Life" Awesome diet/excersise program and you only have to resist the sweets 6 days out of 7. On the 7th day, you are not allowed to excersise and it is mandatory to pig out on whatever you want! I think the author's name is Bill Phillips...he has a webpage (google it) and a book that you will probably find at your local library. I never went hungry once and got down to 17% body fat after 6 months. It IS hard work on the 6 days, but it definately pays off!!

Good Luck...

start limiting yourself...half of usual, or just 3 bites. Try sugar free pudding and ice cream treats. freeze some grapes, add more fruit into your diet. Your cravings are because you're missing some nutrition. Sometimes, if I really want the dessert, I'll order, pass it around the table and there's usually 2 nbites left for me. Perfect! That's all I really wanted anyway. start with small, manageable goals, not cutiing them out entirely, or you'll tend to gorge somewhere. Good luck!

Whenever I hear someone talk about willpower I always think of what Dr. Phil says about it (paraphrasing): "There is no such thing as willpower, so you have to have a plan."

I Love South Beach.

It has taken (almost) all my cravings over sweets away. There are chocolate chip cookies in my fridge right now and last night I ate a sugarfree Fudgsicle.

The issue is that the sugar that you crave constantly spikes your insulin then when you go back to normal or below you crave again and it is a whole vicious cycle.

I have been doing South Beach and I cannot tell you the difference. I don't crave STUFF constantly. I used to keep a small think of cake icing in the fridge just to nibble on several times a day and I haven't even looked for it to know if it is even there anymore.

Oh, and Drink lots of water. Sometimes we confuse thirst with hunger.

Good luck to you and Do this for you

Hi K., my first question is do you drink diet drinks? If so, I have recently read where the Aspertame sweetener actually has a chemical reaction with your body causing you to crave sweets and carbohydrates. Which can make you gain weight or make it hard to lose it. I use the 6 Week Body Makeover to prepare my meals and you will definitely lose weight. You go through a series of questions t o find your body type and then there is a menu guide to help you with what to eat. It costs money but money well spent to learn how to eat right. THere is even an excercise plan that you don't have to leave your house to do!!

I hope this helps
