Oily Skin

Any suggestions or ideas for dealing with extremely oily skin and increased acne? I've got tons of blackheads on my chin and nose area and there's always at least one or two zits forming. I wash my face morning and night and wear light makeup and oil-free moisturizers.

What can I do next?

I use Proactive. I got it for Christmas in 2008 and I LOVE it. I used to have daily breakouts and oily skin but since I started using Proactive I have no breakouts and no oil. It is a little pricey but it works wonderful!! You can buy it at vendor carts in the mall, or online or by mail. Good luck!

It sounds like the products you are using might not be working for you for whatever reason. Skin changes over time due to pregnancies, age, enviormental factors, etc. My advice would be to see a dermatologist first and get a recommendation on a good cleanser and toner, plus be sure you are using the best moisturizer for your skin type. I personally use Keihl's products, and I have roseacea, so I'm very picky about what I use. They are all natural and wonderful. For makeup, again, it could be that you aren't using what will best benefit your skin. I used to use the basic Clinique liquid foundation and loose powder, but then I discovered Bare Escentuals - and WOW, I will never use anything else!! Most makeup brands these days have their own form of this type of makeup - it is basically loose powder "minerals" that serve as your concealer, foundation, blush, everything. You seriously feel like you are wearing no makeup at all but you get the BEST, clean look all day. You can even sleep in it and it doesn't get your pillow dirty or damage your skin from overuse (I have not tried sleeping in it but this is their claim and I believe it). I love how it makes me look, plus, I know it's good for my skin. I hope this helps!

Neutragena (probably spelled wrong) has a system similar to Proactive, but I think it's cheaper & I've had good luck with it. I have a very oily T-zone and would constantly break out. Plus if I used mositurizer on the dry spots I would break out. Now it's not bad.

Hi D. '
I use Reliv products. THey are not sold in stores. But are very effective on oily skin and acne. And affordable by the way! Have an awesome product for scarring too.
Would love to share info with you.

Hi D., It's E. Taft again -- sorry didn't realize you were the same gal who is having the eye make-up issues, or I would have combined my suggestions. You may wish to check out Shaklee's all-natural skin care line also. I have customers who claim that these are the first cleansers and moisturizers that do not make their skin break out -- that doesn't mean that it will do the same for you; however, it is certainly a possibility. Remember, you can always get your money back if you are not happy with the results by contacting Shaklee within 60 days of purchase. I would read about our "Acne Clarifying Complex", "Calming Complex", and all other products in our Enfuselle Skin Care line. Again, please don't hesitate to call me with any questions. www.emilytaft.com ###-###-#### ____@____.com Best Wishes E. Taft

I use MaryKay wash and lotion day and night. It takes a few weeks to clear your face up and then it keeps it clear. If you don't like that product the key is to use a wash and lotion that are from the same company, that are made to work together.

Try Proactiv-it's a miracle!

Are you using a moisturizer with an SPF? I found that my skin was awful with breakouts when I was using one. Also, I started washing with Neutrogena Acne Stress Control foaming wash and toner and my skin is so much better. Good luck!
