Off Clip-on?`

While I don't know about the off-clip on, you question reminded me of something i just read about homemade repellant. i think it was in the newspaper, since we probably don't read the same paper, i'm sure you could find it online. it was something like mixing citronella oil and carrying it in a little packet. i hope this will be helpful.

I haven't used it; but it's a toxin nontheless.
Avon still sells SkinSoSoft, which is a non-toxic bug repellent, among its' many uses.
I make a lotion with aloe, lemon and lavender essential oils. This keeps the bugs away. And it's non-toxic.
Good luck with your business. You may want to think about selling the "bug away" potion with your strollers...let me know. Maybe we have a gig here?

Bass Pro Shops also sells a spray-on repellant that is completely natural. I haven't used it on my 8mo old yet but it was ok'ed by my doc to use while I was pregnant.

I don't know about the safety of it, might ask your doctor but since it is recommended to stay away from your house after it has been sprayed and away from paint fumes, etc, I would be skeptical.

My son is over 3 now, but when he was little, I used a mosquito netting that I put over his stroller. It basically enclosed the entire thing. With very light weight clothing (but long sleeves and pants) and the netting he got almost no bites. I personally think that might be a bit safer.

I didn't like the idea of putting anything on my daughter when she was a baby too. I had one of the stroller nets. I got mine at babies r us. It worked pretty good.

I haven't used it yet, but I would just use the mosquitoe netting that goes over strollers. You can find it at Babies R Us & I think at Target. Then maybe you can put one of the OFF clip ons onto the back of the stroller so that its not within reach of your child.

OFF sent me one of these to review on my blog. We used it at a party this past weekend, and it seemed to work OK - not great, but OK. But, the drawback is the little fan blows this odor out that is suppose to repel bugs. I would be very concerned about a toddler breathing in this ODOR. I really didn't like breathing it myself. I think the netting is your best bet for a young one.

You can get Citronella patches online that just stick to the back of their t-shirts. I use this with my son and it works great!

Hi K.- I use them at night by their beds when I see a mosquito in the house. My little one has such a bad reaction and my son must taste like chocolate cake he gets so many bites. The work very well, however, they are quite expensive if you use them often. The unit itself is around $9, the refile are about $4 for 2. Each one lasts about 12-15 hours. The problem becomes the cost of batteries as well. Of course, if you're going on a 20 minute walk it may not be bad, as opposed to leaving it on for 12 hours a night. But they do work very well and I recommend it for a baby.
