Hi! I am 12 weeks pregnant and not very happy with my current Ob/Gyn Dr. Boone downtown Fort Worth. We are new to Keller and I sure could use a good recommendation for an Ob/Gyn that is reliable and caring.... preferrably female but either way is good. I am also trying to decide between delivering at Baylor Grapevine vs Harris Fort Worth. I am not sure if the remodeling construction is over yet at Harris Fort Worth??? I am wondering which one has the best resources for the baby and also which one has the nicest accomodations....I will be delivering in late October and this is our first baby! Your help would be so greatly appreciated! Thanks Moms!!!

So What Happened?

Well much to my surprise I called Dr. Julia Flowers' office to schedule an appointment and I was treated very rudely by the receptionist. She was not very helpful as far as guiding a first time mom and she was not willing to answer any of my questions nor would she refer me to someone who could answer my questions regarding scheduling and other basic things.... I instantly made up my mind not to go there... who they hire reflects directly upon the entire practice if you ask me. Disappointed but not willing to put up with that especially now with baby on board! I then called Dr. Barbara Webster's office, she delivers at heb, and their receptionist was so helpful and positive... not in a hurry and answered all my questions!!

Dr. Mickey Hooper in Keller and Harris Methodist. I just delivered, the rooms are nicer at Harris, the hospital has an incredible NICU. I can't reccomend these two enough. I rarely waited more than 5 minutes at Doctor Hoopers office. She was great!!

Hi,

I am 24 weeks along with my first and have a great Ob/Gyn group that is affiliated with Harris HEB (which by the way has one of the nicest labor/delivery wings in the area). The groups name is Associates in ObGyn and the main doctor I see there is Dr. Ted Preston. There are also 3 other women doctors that are part of the group. Here is the address and phone number for the group:

1615 HOSPITAL PKWY STE 100
BEDFORD, TX 76022
###-###-####

They are located in one of the buildings right across the street from Harris HEB. Also, like I mentioned Harris HEB has a wonderful Women's Center for labor and delivery. The rooms are very spacious and look more like a hotel room than a hospital room. Good luck with the pregnancy and hope this helps.

Just delivered at Harris Fort Worth - room and nursery renovations are finished - beautiful and they have a room service setting with your food, so you choose and order your meals instead of only having one or two options to choose from. I also agree with what others have said, nothing like the piece of mind of level III NICU.

I used the midwives who deliver at Harris. They have been wonderful!

If you'll consider a male doctor, Dr. Wai at Baylor Grapevine is wonderful. He's delivering my sixth child (third with him as my doctor) in a few weeks. He is very kind and has a gentle bedside manner. He's in the same office as Dr. Flowers someone mentioned previously. Good luck with your new little one!

A.,

I've had a few friends deliver at Baylor who were pretty happy with the experience, but I will tell you that Harris Ft. Worth is a level III hospital and is supposed to have one of the best NICU's and children's facilities around. I'm delivering twins in about 10 days (I'm high-risk) and my OB would not let me go anywhere but Harris Ft. Worth because he told me that if anything went wrong at any other hospital in the area, that the baby would be transported to Harris Ft. Worth anyway to receive care.

You have to make your own decision, though. We are new to the area as well. Just moved here from CA last year, but I'm trusting that my doctor is right and that is the best hospital for a newborn.

Best of luck with your pregnancy,
K.

Hi A.,

I delivered at Baylor at Grapevine and had a wonderful experience there. The nurses were wonderful and the rooms were nice and roomy. My OB/GYN is Dr. Doreen Moser and she is awesome! She has a wonderful bedside manner. She also has ultrasound machines in the exam rooms in her office and therefore I had a ultrasound at every visit during my pregnancy. I can't say enough good things about her and her office!

I go to Dr. New who is in the building next to Baylor Grapevine and highly recommend him. He has a really good bedside manner and is really good about spending time with his patients to make sure all of your questions are answered. And, if you happen to get in the room with the ultrasound machine on your visits, he will do one. I think I had an ultrasound done on most of my visits, but I might have just been lucky enough to get that room each time!

I am about to deliver my second child at Baylor Grapevine. I am very happy with that hospital. Also, my Dr. is Dr. Angela Cope with Women's Integrated Healthcare. They are located across the street from the hospital. There are 5 doctors and 2 nurse practioners, all women. It is a wonderful practice.

Hi A., My Ob/Gyn is Dr. Laura Bradford ###-###-#### and she is wonderful! She is very easy to talk to and caring. Which is what we all need when we are very pregnant. I had to be hospitalized when I was 4 months pregnant and she was on top of it. Good luck with your pregnancy. God Bless!

I had my son at Baylor in Grapevine and had a great experience. The nurses were wonderful and took the time to answer all my questions. My OB was Dr. Coulter-Smith, whe is with Women's Integrated Healthcare. They are located directly across from Baylor Grapevine. There are four OB's in the office total and I have seen two of them...they are wonderful women. The office phone is ###-###-####. Good Luck. Have in a good OBGYN is very important.

every one of these Dr's mentioned here are absolutely fantastic. I have worked with all of them and your choice really depends on personal style. What do you like or dislike in a Dr/Patient relationship. Baylor Grapevine is a great L&D hospital, postpartum some rave some don't, there are a lot of good nurses there and the rooms are new and nice.
Harris Ft Worth is finishing up the remodeling and will have it completed I believe by your time of delivery. 2 Fantastic Dr's over there are Bradford and Robbins. Both have won awards for thier care and dedication. Harris is not as large of postpartum rooms, but new. L&D is very pro mom baby bonding, very supportive of more unmedicated measures you may want to try and even in a c/section baby stays with mom until transfer to the nursery, mom is encouraged to room in and they do have lactation assistance as does Baylor Grapevine.
Since both hospitals are good the choice really is the Dr and go where they go.
Any of the 5 OB's will really do a great job for you.
Good Luck,
K. @ The Nestingplace.

Hi A.,
I delivered our second child at Baylor Grapevine and was very pleased (first child at North Hills and it was fine ). We had to utilize NICU services with our second child and was very pleased with Baylor's services. My OB for our second child was Dr. Katrina Allen with Women's Integrated Healthcare. She was very detailed in her care and I found her also to be very practical. I went into the hospital for a few complications while my Dr. was away at a conference, and had Dr. Coulter-Smith also very good.

Hope this helps !

I delivered at Baylor Grapevine. It was a wonderful experience. It was quiet, the nurses were nice, the food was decent, etc. My OB/GYN was Dr. Troy New. Of course it is a man but he is wonderful. He never made me feel uncomfortable once. He's not afraid to refer you to a specialist at the first sign of something wrong. Most ins. will only pay for a sono a couple of times but he did one at no charge almost at every visit. He will spend as much time as he needs to answer your questions. He's also young and good looking! Good luck!

I LOVE Dr. Doreen Moser!! She's located in the Professional Building at Baylor Grapevine. That was where I had my son and she made everything flawless. She specializes in high-risk pregnancies and infertility, so she is very detail oriented. She's really great! Good luck!!

My best friend and I have both used Dr. Laura Bradford for our OB/GYN. We were both very pleased with her services. My best friend had many complications with her pregnancies both times and Dr. Bradford was the best through it all. You can get her contact info and read other reviews in the Local Business Reviews section on this site.

I can't tell you which hospital to choose though. I'm not sure about the construction at Harris as I haven't been there in awhile. And I've never been to Baylor Grapevine. I delivered both my girls at Harris Fort Worth. Had no complaints but it's been almost 7 years since my last delivery. Much can change in that amount of time. :)
