I had dinner with my in-laws last night and they are doing Nutrisystem and could not say enough good things about it. I'm interested but still skeptical and would like to hear more opinions about the program from those who have tried it with or without success.

What can I do next?

I'm on it right now and I can say that ir is working beautifully. I tried for 6 months with sensible eating and 1 hour of exercise 6 days a week. I lost 6 pounds in 6 months and my clothes didn't fit that differently.

I have done nutrisystem for a month and I've lost 10 pounds and I haven't exercised at all.

The food is diet food and it tastes like diet food. There are some items that are really good but most items are just okay. I have had a couple of things that I just can't eat again but for the most part it's okay food. It's easy and convenient and cheaper than Jenny Craig. You can customize your order to pick the things that sound good to you so if powdered eggs don't sound good to you don't order them. I east mainly breakfast bars, pastrys and muffins or cereal for breakfast. Most of the lunches are soups or pastas (kind of like ramen noodles) and dinners are like a lean cuisine type thing. You have to add salads and fruits as well as dairy with each meal. Honestly if I could afford it I'd just keep ordering the food for several more months after I lose all my weight and mix it in with regular food for maintaining the weight. Also, because the food is somewhat bland (there's not much sodium content which keeps water weight off) I think my taste buds no longer crave alot of the things I was eating before.

As you can tell, I recommend it. Good luck.

I repeated my response from April of last year. For me NutriSystem worked and served its purpose for the weight I wanted to lose and had the convenience I needed.

Here's an answer that I posted back in April of this year to someone else that asked the same question. I think you can go back and look at this post around April 2nd under a certain category of references/responses (not sure how). Anyway, here is my response:

I'm trying to lose baby fat too, but I waited longer than you to get serious about losing the weight (my daughter is 3 years old). I finally made the decision to get going on it and I chose NutriSystem. I began the their food plan on 3-15-07 and also started walking a minimum of 30 minutes a day, most the time an average of 45 minutes. As of this morning, 4-21-07, I have lost 15 lbs!!!

NutriSystem and Jenny Craig have many similarities, but I chose NutriSystem because of the added convenience and some of their promotional pricing that made it even more of a value. I like that ALL of their food is delivered directly to my front door and that it is ALL high-end technological...shelf stable packaging. I don't have extra room in my freezer or refrigerator to store addt'l food/meal products.

I also believe that AFTER I reach my weight loss goal, I will have re-established some awesome, lifestyle habits that will allow me to keep the weight off long-term. I personally respond well, as most people do, to setting goals and keeping track of those accomplishments in order to stay motivated and see progress. It's not just seeing the pounds come off or the inches (of which I've seen both...yea!), but it is in knowing and seeing that I'm getting enough water each day to keep my body & skin hydrated (and it keeps your body from 'holding onto' the water in extra pounds...because when you don't get enough your body preserves what you have as a safety mechanism), consuming the proper amount of fruits and veggies and really reducing my carb intake.

I feel more energetic and look healthy already. I feel better inside too, knowing that I'm doing something good for myself and for those that I love and I'm seeing the results in a fairly short time.

In regard to the taste of the food, NutriSystem has plenty of choices to keep everyone happy. Sure there are some meals that I didn't like as much as others, but I have TONS of choices for each meal occasion as well as the dessert, that completely satisfy me. And, within a short time you learn how to add-in things (be it your veggie or fruit allocations or other FREE foods) that are part of a healthy diet to enhance each eating experience.

Lastly, IF you do want to consider NutriSystem more seriously, please let me know and I can send you a $30 coupon (via e-mail) and provide you with the way to receive 2 weeks of FREE food when you sign-up vs. just 1 week of FREE food. I can also share how you will get FREE shipping everytime and another 10-15% discount. All these opportunities make NutriSystem very affordable at approx. $10/day or less.

I hope all this info helps. I wanted to make sure you had an overview from a happy NutriSystem user that is seeing results RIGHT NOW. Take care. Many Blessings - L.

I started the program 3/15/07 and stayed on it exclusively until 5/15/07. Then, I used it off & on throughout the summer and have continued to use it for most all my breakfast options and continued to eat healthy snacks and fillers. I also have continued to use the lunches from time to time too. Bottomline is that I lost 30 lbs. in 3 months. And, I lost another 5 - 7 lbs. thereafter and to date, I've kept it all off. I will say that during the first 3 months, I also began walking everyday without exception. So, I believe that the diet with the added exercise helped me to effectively and safely lose the 30 lbs. I would like to lose another 10-15 lbs, but may wait until January to get past the difficult holiday period. Hope that helps. Many Blessings - L.

I really really really thought the food was GROSS. Freeze dried eggs (powdered)... GROSS.
Try Weight Watchers, or if you can afford it, Jenny Craig. Jenny's food was great. I just couldn't afford it over time.

GOOD LUCK!

I have been on Nutri-System for a month and have lost 9 lbs and have been exercising about 3 days a week average. I really did like the food for the exception of the mashed potatoes, and fetticine sp??. The eggs were ok, but not the best. The snacks were great. I just can't afford to be on it any longer.

I've been reading The Abs Diet For Women and sounds reasonable and based on eating 6 times daily including snacks. Very interesting book....Every day food you can live with....

Good luck to you!
