Anyone go there? How has your experience been with the group? How are their wait times for appointments? I've heard of some people waiting really long time b/c they tend to run behind. I'm thinking of seeing them but would like to get opinions.

What can I do next?

I like this practice for pregnancies because they all do their own ultrasounds and labs right there- haven't found another practice that does (other practices only have ultrasounds techs on certain days of send you to the hospital). If you're not pregnant seeing the nurse practitioner Maureen is awesome, usually no wait no matter what time of day and I LOVE her, I wish she would do prenatal!! Dr. Keith has the next shortest wait time. I've waited the longest for Dr. Novas. I prefer to see Dohr or Coll for prenatal.

Hi Mama L L,

I have been going to this Gyno office for last 4 years and seen all the Women Doctors.
Each doctor is a little different in approchability - starting with Dr KEith being the most personable, then Dr Coll, Dr Dohr is always delivering babies so I saw her when she delivered mine 2.5 years ago. I find the Doctors to be superb in knowledge and service comparing to others, but busy at times.

In my last appointment this year just for a Paps I waited 1 hour but someone forgot I was there, the Dr talked to the Nurse immediately and apologized 1000 times about the wait. I usually wait 10-20 minutes. There are a lot of pregnant women there so you Want it fast or you want good service, it's up to you.

I find the Nurses friendly and if they can't find your vein they will get another nurse to do it. The Nurse Practitioner Maureen I saw once when I was pregnant. She is good. I feel very secure that I will be taken care of going to this doctor's office and I was thankful to have found them.
Dr. Dohr delivered my son 2007 and she was delivering 4 other babies same day when I was in Good Shephard Hospital in Barrington. She is a friendly but professional lady who loves her job.

I had used Dr Novas & Associates for my last two pregnancies. Overall, I have been happy with them. The appointment wait time is not that bad (I think 10-20 min on average). All doctors in group are good professionals, and I feel like if there are complications, things would be handled appropriately. Dr. Novas and Coll are "all business" (some might find them not too friendly), Dr Dohr and Keith are more easy-going. Dr Coll gave me grief for breastfeeding my 18 month old during my last pregnancy, wanted me to quit, although I know from the research I 've done that breastfeeding is fine if you are not a high-risk for miscarriage.

There is also a fifth doctor, who I haven't seen yet. I find the nurses to be fine.
To sum it up, I think this practice is pretty good, although it's a large practice with a lot of patients in and out, and it has its drawbacks too.

I love this group. It really is nice to have an all female practice. I usually see the Nurse Practioner Maureen and she is wonderful. I haven't had long wait times. Usually no more than 5-10 minutes. Always try to get one of the 1st appts. of the day and you wouldn't have to wait :)

Good luck and please let me know if you need more info

Dr. Dohr delivered my first daughter and I loved her. I also love Dr. Keith in the practice. Dr. Coll just delivered my sister's baby on Sat morning and she was very nice too. The office has definitely gotten busier since I wen there the first time 5 yrs ago. Sometimes they run behind and you wait, other times they take you right away. I think they need to improve on that for sure! Also my sister said that the staff/nurses need to be friendlier and introduce themselves and tell you what the are doing at times. What I like is that they do their own ultrasounds and are very up to date on their knowledge/tests/equipment. I had to switch practices for my 2nd daughter and liked my other doctor but he had been in practice for like 40 years and yes was very esperienced but lacked the knowledge of the new tests that are now offered and didn't do his own ultrasound (which really sucked when he couldn't find a heartbeat at 14 wks and I had to drive to a different town to an ultrasound center to find out my baby was gone). :( So I guess there are pros and cons to their office but I have switched back to them and will use them for my 3rd baby someday.

I have been going to this practice for 7 years and I love it there. Sometimes they are running behind and you have to wait. Sometimes there are emergencies and you will have to reschedule. But isn't that how all OB offices are? Everyone in that office is very nice and most importantly knowledgable. I have never had any problems with them at all. Whenever I have a question or concern, they always return my call promptly.

If you are concerned about the wait time, schedule your appt in the morning. If that is not an option, just call ahead of time and see if they are running behind.

Here is some advice from someone who used her as her OB 19 years ago. She was absolutely fabulous. The only problem was is that she practiced at that time out of Sherman Hospital and we live in Woodstock but in the long run that did not matter because I loved her as a doctor.
Can not help you on the waiting for appointments because it has been so long ago I am sure it is different now.
I would have to say my favorite thing was she did not make my husband dress up like a doctor in the birthing room. She let things be very relaxed and she let me leave the hospital the same day. i did not want to stay there and she let us go since our son was not being circumcised.

I didn't like their practice at ALL. If you don't need to have a woman, Dr. Randy Zimmerman in Barrington is so highly recommended, he was wonderful during my pregnancy and C-section and recovery. I just love him.

Hanna is the NP there and she is awesome, too. Everyone I talk to about this practice just adores Dr. Z.
