Not a Kid Type Question, but a Cleaning One

I have a shirt that is special to me. Well, I was cooking dinner, tacos, and the hamburg greese splattered on me... Well, how on earth do I get it out... not to mention that my husband didn't realize it and being the dear that he is, washed laundry. So it went through the dryer. I am hoping to not have the worst news (it won't come out) but am prepared...
Thank you all!

What can I do next?

My mom used Goop to get out grease and food stains on laundry for years! It works great on most things though I wouldn't use on delicates like silk or dry clean items. You can find it in a hardware store. I usually use the oxyclean stain spray which gets out a lot of food stains (I think it is a little better than Spray and Wash). The trick with the dish detergent is good for grease too.

Make a paste of dish detergent and dishwasher detergent like Dawn and Cascade. Let it sit. Then scrub it with a toothbrush. Rinse. It's worked for me on lots of food and splatter stains.

Good luck!

I was desperate to remove a grease stain from a brand new shirt and my husband suggested I try something from his garage (crazy I know!). The brand I use is a generic called "Goop" but its that waterless hand cleaner that mechanics use. I put it on EVERY stain and have only had one stain in the last 4 years that wouldn't come out. It works on greese, grass, mildew spots...you name it it has worked for me...on numerous types of materials I might add :) I just rub it on with my fingers before starting the load, start the machine and load it up, then make the treated piece the last one into the washer.

Take straight Dawn dish detergent and a rub it into the grease markings with a toothbrush. May take a little bit of time since it's been through the dryer, but it works :)

I'd FORGOTTEN about Goop! Have to break that stuff out again.

I've also had quite a bit of luck sacrificing the liquer cabinet (yet again) in order to clean. Everclear, gin, vodka, whathave you. Soak and scrub. Ideally, with heat. But you have to be careful. Getting out the stain, but setting your shirt on fire is a waste of both effort and booze.

Sheesh. You know you're getting older when you buy alcohol for AFTER the party, instead of FOR the party.

Hope it comes out...get a cute apron. Ross always has very cutesie ones!

try iron out or soaking it in oxy greese is the worst to get out before its set for life any way good luck.

Rub Dawn dish soap into the stain and then spray with whatever spray stain remover you have. Let it sit for 24-48 hours and then wash. Even if it's been through the dryer it should come out!

Good luck!
