Nosy Birth Control Question
I am all done making babies! I am 3 weeks post partum and wondering what you all decided to do for birth control while you haggle with hubby over who gets "fixed".
So What Happened?™
Whew! What a lot of good, friendly advice from you all. I have decided to put surgical means aside for now, and am taking the mini-pill, since you can take it while breastfeeding. We are still using condoms since the mini pill is more effective over time.

I have been using the depo shot for two years now and it works great. With my two kids being 2 and 4 I know what you mean.

I haggled with my fiance for a bit, until I realized that our insurance only considered a tubal something non cosmetic that we wouldn't have to pay for. Though if you know YOU are finished making babies, I'd say do the tubal, just know all the pros and cons beforehand. There are things that doctors don't tell you, so be sure to do your research.

Talk to your Dr. or Midwife about getting a diaphram. That's what we used until the vasectomy was complete ;)

I had my six week postpartum check up and my PAP came back ok so my midwife gave me the go ahead for the Mirena IUD. I love it and I won't have to worry about birth control for 5 years!

You don't say how old you are. Are you nursing your baby? You should discuss with your doctor all your options. And I would wait until a bit longer.. when the baby is a bit older to really make that decision if you decide on something like getting "fixed!" - which is more difficult to reverse than simply stop taking a pill or having an IUD removed etc. YOU have lots of options too.. your husband is more limited....so talk with your doctor and your husband - and give yourself some time to consider what you'll do. Your age should make a difference, too.

have you looked in to IUD's? They have one that stays in for up to 10 years... That makes it a long term solution that can be turned in to a permanent one when it is time to take it out.

I made the same decision, although mine was much easier, my third was C-section so the doc fixed everything right then! I would like to discuss your hairstyling business, I have Arbonne products that have been shown to bring in retail and residual income. We have a spa and salon package avail. Not only that, I'm looking for someone here for myself and my children's hair! I'm from Texas, and have had some odd experiences. Where is your salon? By the way congratulations on your baby!

I know the feeling. When I knew I was pregnant with twins, which would bring us to 4 children, my husband and I had an agreement. If I had a C-section then I was the one to get "fixed", if not then he did. I had them naturally. Well he had two "snips" just to be sure. :) Also, my husband is very logical and agreed that the procedure was much less invasive for a man and way cheaper. Oh, and the interim time is not so nice. We had to opt with the male contraceptive.
