Nose Congestion
My baby will be 9 weeks old on Monday. Her nose seems stuffed up. I tried to call her doctor but they have not called me back. Is it ok to give her nose drops?

My Dr. also suggested a little saline solution dropped right in the nostril and to use a bulb suction to get it out...this should not be a really big problem to worry about, all of our little ones with their tiny little noses get plugged up at sometime...congrats on your little blessing :) M.

The saline drops are safe - they are nothing more than salt water. (Don't try to make them yourself though.) Just have the bulb syringe ready so you can pull all the thick stuff out of her nose for her. Another thing I used to do with mine was stand in the shower with the hot water running. That way they could breathe the steam to help break up the congestion.
Good luck and congrats on the new little one!

Try little noses, saline spray/ drops. Just go by the instructions on the bottle, and have a nose sucker ready to immediately suck the stuff out!
You can also try the wall plug Gentle Vapors (there is also one by vicks). They are really good for night time. They really help my little one when he has had congestion before.
Good luck.

Hi D.--
As everyone else mentioned, the saline drops from lil noses works wonders! Also, use J&J vicks vapor bath when bathing...that loosens a ton prior to even using the drops. I use a vaporizer for my little one...you may want to get the cool mist...the warm may be a bit too much with the summer heat...but GREAT during the cooler months!
Good Luck!!

D.,
If you have not purchased a hot steam vaporizer, run right out and get one. I use the one by Vick's and I put Vick's vaposteam in it and it opens my kids right up. I have used it on my infants as well with doctor permission.
