North East or North Central Baptist for Delivery?

I am new to this area and expecting our 5th baby in July. I am trying to decide between delivering at North East baptist and North Central Baptist, but have no experience with either. I will be having a repeat c-section for this delivery. I am hoping for some input from other moms who have been to 1 or both hospitals and had c-sections. Thank you, as any input is very much appreciated!

What can I do next?

I cannot speak highly enough about North Central Baptist Hospital. I had a c-section there 4 months ago and had a wonderful experience.

I went into the hospital unexpectedly b/c I had planned a home birth. I went in with my husband and midwife on the day after Christmas (Dec 26th) with my water broken and meconium in the fluid and not having regular contractions.

I was expecting a terrible experience b/c hospitals typically dont like the thought of home births. Let me say that they changed my thoughts 100%.

Every single person I encountered was beyond helpful, nice, and willing to do anything they could to make me comfotable.

I ended up with a c-section and that was my worst fear. I went through the whole thing totally comfortable and feeling safe. I cannot believe how easy and smooth it all went.

The facility is top notch. The rooms are more like hotel rooms with flat screen tv's, dvd players, nice couches and chairs for guests and everything.

Like I said ... I just cannot speak highly enough! Feel free to e-mail me with any questions you may have ... good luck and I hope you choose North Central, you wont go wrong!

I would highly recommend North Central. They just finished their new Labor and Delivery wing almost a year ago and it is VERY nice. I think North Central is one of the few, if not the only, hospital that can pretty much guarantee you a private postpartum room. I delivered my son there, almost a year ago, before they finished the new wing. I had a semi-private room and I hated it. The nursery and NICU are also newer and updated.

My mom is one of the Operating Room Educators at the hospital and I wouldn't recommend it if she had told me bad things about it. My mom has also worked at Northeast Baptist and BMC downtown and they're all good, I just really love North Central.

You should consider going to the one closest to your home. If, and I pray this is not the case for you, but if you end up having your child put in the NICU, you'll regret not being close. My son was in the NICU for 20 days and fortunately I live only 5 minutes from North Central so I was able to get there every morning by 8 and stay as long as I wanted, with the option of going home to eat and nap when needed.

If you need some reassurance, since you'll be in the O.R. for your c-section, you can rest easy knowing that all the staff at North Central has been educated by the best!

I delivered at North East Baptist...their labor and delivery rooms make you feel like your at home...and if you are going to stay there overnight, my mother works there...

I don't know about Northeast but North Central Baptist hospital I've heard is very good. My sister-in-law had both of her children there and loved it.

Good luck!
