No Leg Cramps

My question is with my last 2 pregnancies I had terrible leg cramps at night. With my third pregnancy I have had NO leg cramps. Believe me I'm not complaining! I'm just wondering if this is normal. I feel so good and sometimes don't even feel pregnant. I sometimes wonder if everything is OK. All of my prenatal visits have been fine including a level 2 ultrasound. I'm 30 weeks.

Hi K.,
I understand your worries about 'feeling so good' that you wonder if everything is okay since you don't feel pregnant. I was the same way...I felt better then I had ever before in my life and was worried that the baby was ok because I'd seen my friends as miserable during their pregnancy's. Enjoy that you're feeling so great, and enjoy these last few amazing weeks of your pregnancy!
Congrats!!!

Leg cramps are caused by a calcium/magnesium deficiency, so you're probably taking better care of yourself this time!

i AM SURE YOU ARE FINE. My first one was worse too, Maybe you are eating more potasium, which helps.

I heard that leg cramps can be related to low calcium...maybe your intake is better this time? I never had leg cramps with my first 2, and this time I have a bunch. Good luck! I'm sure everything is fine!

Don't worry K.. I've been through 7 1/3 pregnancies so far, and they've all been different. Your body tends to be at different points at different times, so it makes sense that you won't experience exactly the same things every time. If there's no indication that anything is wrong, just relax and enjoy feeling great. I've had some where I've felt great, and others not so great, but no two were the same, except that they each produced a healthy baby! No worries -- think good thoughts! Blessings to you!

Leg cramps can be a calcium defiency. You may also need to drink more water. I'd make sure your Vitamin D level is up to normal too. It has to do with your calcium absorption. Ask your doctor for a vitamin D-Hydroxy25 test and ask that it also show your calcium levels. Take vitamin D3 if it's low. Take the vitamin D with fatty foods. Remember that there are good fats and bad fats. Always eat good fats like olive oil, omega 3 oils, etc. Bad fats are in red meats and chicken fat/skin. Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin.
Good Luck!

Leg cramps come if you're not drinking enough water...maybe you're drinking more this time around. It can also be a sign that you need to take Calcium and/or Magnesium supplements. All pregnancies are different! I'd be thankful, I had horrible leg cramps throughout some of my pregnancy until I figured this out!
Good luck,
E. K. :-)
