My hubby has been after me to get my nipples pierced. I am scared it will hurt too much and that my nipples will forever be erect. Has anyone had theirs done? What is the healing time? How about the pain? Please give me the good and bad!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone for your input, I decided to have them done. I did it this morning out in VA beach. It really wasn't that bad, the second one hurt worse, since the adrenaline is going away. But it was only like a bad pinch. The guy was great and answered my questions really well. I am a little sore now, but not bad. He said the soreness will go away in a day or so.

Hey,
I have had my left one pierced for years. It didn't hurt that bad when I got it done but was a little sore afterwards for a few days. I took it out with both pregnancies and breast fed with my first with no problems. The hole did stay there when it was removed for a few monthes and easily went back in. Your nipples do not stay erect. Infact I don't even know it's there anymore. Hope that helps and good luck.

It sounds to me like you might already have piercings in other places besides your ears. I cannot tell you anything from experience just common sense opinion. If you pierce there you have to be prepared for snaggings on bras and clothes. I don't know about you, but that is an area that gets bumped or touched regularly. IF you have piercings there it seems like a huge risk that they might get torn out on accident. One or both. And that is a risk I can't understand people taking. Piercings can be dangerous. You can get infections from all sorts of things, bad metal, didn't wash as good as you thought, something spills on you and gets inside. My daughter got an infection in one of her ear piercings and that was 4 years ago and she has scar tissue in the hole and it now regularly gets sore when she wears certain earrings in that one ear. I wouldn't want an infection in my breasts, well any area. But my breasts? Not too mention getting ripped out? Then your breasts will never be the same again. I would weigh the pros and cons on this one. Pain from doing it in the first place is nothing compared to the problems that could follow.
Good luck in your decision.

I had both of mine done at the same time. The 1st one did not hurt and the 2nd one felt like a bee sting. I wound up wearing a sports bra for the first week or two because anytime it would brush up against anything it would sting a little.

Hi S.,

If your husband wants you to get your nipples pierced, I am wondering, why?

You have to care for 2 children, 3 dogs and a husband, and your husband wants you to get your nipples pierced!

You want to please him. What about a new hair color?

You may want to have more children and breast feed, what about then?

Tell your husband, "No" Don't put yourself through that.

Good luck in your decision. D.

I was holding my best friends hand when she got hers done. Yes it hurts bad. They don't use the cute little ear piercing gun to do this. It's a metal rod that they push through your nipple. Don't know how long it hurt for but the first day was horrible. Even her shirt lightly rubbing on them was excruciating. Soon after her body starting rejecting the rings and pushed them out of her body. Definately not worth it for her.

I just wanted to add that in my opinion it makes me look at the woman in a different way. Kind of like she is hard and a roughneck. They are very un-lady like to me and take away from the attractiveness of the beautiful female body. Just my opinion, it's your decision and if you want to make your husband happy then get them. I like to do things to make my husband happy too but I don't think I would do this. I was going to suggest the fakey kind you clip on your nipples instead.

Why on earth would he ask such of thing of you??? The only piercings I have are in my ears so I can't say how it feels, I can only imagine it would hurt terribly.

The infection possibility in an inclosed area like that is pretty strong and it could also possibly affect your ability to breast feed in the future and could damage nerves in that area actually decreasing your ability to feel and become aroused sexually. I would not recommend doing it and I'm sure your husband wouldn't either if he actually knew the risks/consequences involved. Good luck.

Hey S., this may seem silly but how about if you were to find some temporary ones... any beauty supply has a wide variety of piercings.. Maybe if you investigate you'll find that you can just put one on and tighten it (a little) and Walla! your husband's fantasy is fulfilled and your breasts are safe!! hahhaaha

I had mine done a few times. They hurt just like any other piercing (I have had tounge, tregas, ears, nipples) My nipples were not always errect, only at appropriate times. I'll tell you when I had them done I was a waitress and I went to work straight after and worked my whole shift and was fine lifting heavy trays and moving fast. The only bad thing is now I have two indentations on each side of my nipple and white stuff is always right inside there, no matter how much I mess with it. They have been closed up now for 2.5 years and I had them in for 5-6 years. If you want it- get it. Its not permanent and not nearly as bad as having babies! lol. Its really not that big of a deal.

I had mine done in January. My piercer was impressed because I watched mine get done. My left one is healed up nicely, but my right one is still healing slowly because my daughter bumped it bad when she went to hug me. :( I am glad I got mine done. When I showed my husband he said I was a stronger man than he was :P Just be gentle with them and be patient. Especially if your husband wants to play with them. Tell him to wait. I didn't and it got really sore for a few days then went down. The pain is not worth it. Have fun!
