L.,

There is much more to do on the Canadian side than the US side. The views are better too.

We did NOT do the boat tour. There is now a zip line you can go down near the Falls, NOT OVER - near.

I don't remember the name of the hotel we stayed at. It had a pool. Sorry - we used Groupon and got a great deal for 2 rooms. We had breakfast at the IHOP which was across the street from the hotel we stayed in.

https://www.groupon.com/local/niagara-falls I would check out the deals here and see if they work for when you are going. I didn't realize there was so much to do and see, we would have spent 4 days up there instead of 2.

Have a blast! My boys were 13 and 15 and loved it. Want to go back again!

I grew up near there (so I can't tell you about hotels).
There is so much to do - and most of it is on the Canadian side - so make sure you all have your passports with you.

Marineland is a whole day by itself - the kids will love it.

I especially like the Butterfly Conservatory.

We spent a week on the Canadian side when my daughter was just a year old. I have to be honest and say that it was my least favorite of all the vacations I have gone on. A week was way too long. If we were to go again, it would be for a weekend. Maybe it would be better with older kids.

The falls is really cool to see and there is a nice visitors center/museum. My husband and some of his family who were with us did the boat ride. They liked it. I didn't go because my daughter was so young. They also went to see the falls at night when they light it up. I didn't go since our daughter was already asleep. Other than the falls, I don't remember too much about the trip. I remember thinking things seemed kind of old and run down. I don't remember the name of our hotel, but it was within walking distance of the entertainment area. I think there was a Ripley's Believe It or Not museum. We honestly didn't spend much time in that area at all because it struck me as being more for older kids and teens. I think we spent a day at Marineland but I honestly don't remember much about it.

Be sure to have your passports!!

Groupon! There's deals on everything from hotels to meals to entertainment. Some hotels even have packages. Our favorite is Embassy Suites. Everything is pricey but the nearly 25% CAD to USD exchange makes it affordable. Definitely stop at the Hershey store for a milkshake or hot chocolate!!

If I were to go to Niagra Falls I think a whole day would be enough. More than enough actually. It's water, falling off a cliff.
