Newly Pregnant, Seeking OBGYN

I just found out that I am pregnant and now in search of a OBGYN. We are new to the area (Post Falls) and I am a first time mom so a little apprehensive. I would prefer a female doctor, but willing to listen to other suggestions. I wouldn't mind traveling a little ways if need be. Please help me find a doctor that will make this experience a pleasant one!

What can I do next?

Hello Sara, Im not sure if you want to use a midwife but, I used Pam Holcomb with my first baby and she was exellent, I recommend her to anybody, she is a very nice and understanding lady and has lots of practice, She is at the Women's Clinic, here in post falls and there is one in Cda also,, Dont know if that well be helpful to you or not but, she was great, might want to give her a shot, Would love to talk to you, its always nice meeting new friends, I live in post falls also... hope to hear from you!

I have 2 children and for both my dr. was DR. Mary Sanderson from the Womens Clinic in Coeur d' Alene. I really liked her.

Hi Sara,
I worked for Health Care for Women in Coeurd'Alene for over 10 years and would highly recommend their office, especially Dr. Jon Cutting. He delivered both my children in addition to my working for him and I felt totally confident in his skills. He has taken in 2 new partners since I left, Dr. Brett Penny who I have met but do not have any 'patient' experience with, and Dr. Marla Hardenbergh whom I have not met. I believe Women's Clinic of North Idaho would be a good choice also as I worked with Dr. Ambrose in the hospital years ago. Its really how comfortable and confident you feel with a particular physician and their office - how easy it is to get hold of them and how personable they are, how willing to listen to your concerns, besides the medical expertise that both these offices have established over the years. Talking with other young Moms that you meet will also give you insights into not only OB/GYN but Pediatric recommendations. Good luck in your search and keep up with good OB care. F.

The Hennenbergs are wonderful. Some say you either like Tony or you like Randy. I believe that to be true! I love Tony! Tony's son Andrew is also in the office. He is great too!!

Good luck!!
