New Veterinarian

Hi,

I am trying to find a veterinarian in my area (Macomb Township) that is not too expensive, but is very knowledgable on shots, heartworm and flea meds, older dog meds, and soft tissue surgeries? I was with my vet for 20 years. She grew bigger and changed over the years. She was never in her clinic and expected me to see her associates. I would request her, not her associates.
Anyway, she decided to release my pets' records and sent me elsewhere
(sent me walking). How rude!
I have a 12 year old cocker spaniel, an 8 year old cocker spaniel (had a ruptured disk and surgery back in Nov. 2007. She is not walking on her own, but doing O.K. on a "Bottoms Up Leash"), and a 14 week old english springer spaniel.
Of course, my vet was not around when my 8 year old had her ruptured disk and she was not at the clinic when my 5 1/2 year old cocker acquired an "animec disease" and passed away May 12th, 2008.
I have been terribly hurt by my ex-vet.
Please help me find a new veterinarian.
Thank you,
J. C.
Macomb

Thank you to everyone that has responded to my email about a new Vet.
Does anyone know of the Veterinary General on Hayes & 24 Mile Rd. (Shelby Township?
I have not heard good or bad about this vet.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thank you to all that wrote to me about a new vet. I took my 8 year old dog (ruptured disk/not walking)to see Dr. Wilson at Animal Hospital of Sterling Heights/Wilson's Animal Hospital (Romeo). He was very helpful and he is having me take my dog, Christie, to his Canine Rehabiltation Assistant. He has great bed side manners, helpful, and his prices are good.
Thank you to all,
J. C.

I wanted to second the recommendation for the Pet Doctor on Hayes. I took my cats to him for a few years when I lived out that way, and they really are a wonderful practice.

Another vet practice that I really love is Snider Veterinary Services. Most of my family brings their pets there, and we've all had very good experiences. They are on Garfield south of 18. The number is ###-###-####.

We also love The Pet Doctor on Hayes. He is such a kind and gentle man. When I was in college, I had a very sick cat. He knew I couldn't afford the treatment and did it for very low cost. Probably 1/3 of the actual cost. My entire family take their pets there.

hi J., My sister works for a very good vet hospital in Romeo, the name is Wilsons Veterinarian hospital--it is open 24 hours 7 days a week it is right on Van Dyke right in the middle between 32 and 31 mile road---we only had one little four legged friend but were very happy with the services we recieved--I know my neighbor just switched her three dogs to Wilsons from her vet of 17 years and is extrememly happy (and was very happy when they were actually below the estimated cost on an emergancy surgical procedure): they also offer physical thearapy--they do have more than one location and I believe one of them is in sterling Heights, but I am not sure on the exact location of that office, there are quite a few doctors that work there and if you want to message me I can give you the names of the doctors that my sister has work on her 2 year old boston that has very bad food allergies: I do know that they do alot of orthopdic surgeries there--anyway the # for the main office in Romeo is ###-###-#### if your interested, sorry I jumped all around--was trying to think of all the good points and there are so many I kinda get excited

good luck I know how special our four legged friends are in our lives

WE love out vet but it's in Oakland County. We love Gasow on Woodward and 16 Mile Road.

Very pleased with our vet - Wilson Veterinary Hospital on Van Dyke in Romeo/Washinton Twp. ###-###-####. They are staffed 24 hours for emergencies.

Good Luck!

I have searched far and wide and am most comfortable with Hammilton Vet Clinic in Clawson - a little drive but may be what you are looking for - one man - nice staff - very personalized and seemily knowledgable :)

I also take our dogs to Wilson Vet Hospital in Romeo. They have a staff of 5 or 6 vets, and we've been happy with all that we have seen. I've had to take the older of our 2 dogs (14 YO) in frequently lately as she's been diagnosed with congestive heart failure. We've been seeing Dr. Harder for that particular ailment, and I've been particulary happy with her care.
