Hi S.,
There is a very good Montessori school in the area called Brookfield (not sure if this is the one that the first response person was talking about) Academy. There are 4 campuses around here and one of them is in Troy. They have a very good reputation and were also the first Montessori school in Michigan (in 1964 I believe). My daughter went to the Laurel campus (it's the original campus and it's in Waterford)but from what I have seen, the Troy campus seems to be much nicer (and bigger). There's also one in Rochester (which I believe even purchased a school bus last year!) and one in West Bloomfield.
Good luck and feel free to contact me if you have any other questions!

Sorry, I don't know about any good Montessori's in Troy - but I can tell you about my girlfriends preschool. It is called Beautiful Savior Early Learning Center (BSELC) and is part of the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church that is on Adams Rd. between Long Lake and Square Lake roads. The phone number is ###-###-####. Joan Hempke is the administrator, so she would be the person to talk to (she is at that number). My girlfriend highly recommends the program. She says they do teach some basic Christian concepts along with the other basic learning skills (numbers, alphabet, etc), but nothing specific to any denomination is taught.
Also, I was intrigued by the fact that you are new to Detroit and your first language is French. I speak French as my second language (I majored in it at College - but haven't done much with it in the past 7 years or so). I could definitely use the practice - both written and oral. Please email me if you are interested in conversing.

I taught Montessori and I run a daycare in my home now. I have a 2 year old son and I watch a 2 year old little girl 5 days a week and another 2 year old girl 2 days a week. I only take 4 children maximum and my program is Montessori based.
I am in Madison Heights.

S.,
YES-- I MEANT BROOKFIELD.
I believe it is called Brookstone Academy-- it is a Montessori pre-school in Troy. I haven't heard anything, good or bad about it, but have driven by it several times. I know there are several others as well but don't know there names. I would try googling "troy montessori".
Good luck and welcome.
