I do know of a salon called Don's salon in San Mateo, they are located on 41st ave in san mateo. sorry don't have the exact address, but i do work close by... they are a great place to have most of hair care work done. they aren't really that too much expensive, the staff is wonderful and bery friendly. They really know how to treat their clients. If you want some recommendations, you could ask for betty or laura- they are sisters and do a magnificent job. or you can go and see dotty, or lynn. all of the ladies have done something with me or my mother in the past. i wouldn't go anywhere else after having them do my hair for the past 3 years. but really any of them you can see. their phone # is ###-###-####.

I go to JC Penney at Tanforan Mall and see Nadia Saleem. She is a MASTER with color and cut and is reasonably priced as well. Another great thing about her is that she works on Saturday and Sunday so its nice to not have to rush from work to get there.

I used to go to a gal just next to Wisnom's 3rd Ave. White business complex and she was in the middle. Been a few years. Not sure if she is still there. Her name was Ulla (pronounced OO-lah. Very fun Sweedish woman. That is the only place I know up there. I stopped going because it was just too far to drive from Palo Alto. Good luck.

I live in San Mateo but make the trip to San Bruno for hair cuts and highlights. I go to Maria B at Hair Definition, and I love her. She does a very high quality job, and charges very reasonable fees. I always leave happy. It is only about a 15 minute drive and well worth the trip.
