Netflix - Spring Branch,TX

I don't understand what the Netflix fuss is about. Do people really need the instant streaming and the mail order dvd's?? My price went down 2 dollars to 7.99 since I never used the streaming that I was forced to sign up for before. We get the dvds by mail and probably get about 2 a week. If you have a redbox near you and keep it only one day then maybe that is the way to go. I know I am really bad about getting things back on time so I love the Netflix dvds. The only annoying thing is if the dvd is damaged you have to send it back and wait a few days to get a new one.

To all the people upset about the price, have you been to a movie theatre lately??? The theatre by me is 11 dollars for one ticket. And that is not a 3D movie. That is even more. Maybe we should be outraged at the theatres and their 7 dollar popcorns.

We don't have any TV, only Netflix. The price only went up $5 a month. Still a steal compared to cable!

I've used Redbox, and the price is only $1 IF you drive every day past a box, AND remember to bring the DVD along... I've had a couple pretty expensive $1 movies! There goes the price of a month of Netflix DVDs that I don't have to drive anywhere for.

I don't know why people expect Netflix to deliver more and more content for no more money. And, this new pricing allows people more choice to only pay for what they want.

Truthfully.. the $5-6 increase isn't a deal breaker for me. I'm the type who keeps DVDs for weeks until I remember to return them. My library fees alone sometimes are worrisome. Netflix doesn't have late fees AND allows streaming videos to both blue rays and computers - which I love.

We watch a good mix of TV, Netflix and library movies. Most times when the library does NOT have what we want, Netflix does and half the time it's streaming.

We've had streaming only for about a year, so our price is actually dropping.

With the wicked heat this summer, my boys have really enjoyed all the old kids' movies when it's too hot to be outside in the afternoons.

We are seriously looking at getting Netflix despite the price increase. I kind of get people being mad about the price increase since it is such a jump but I also feel like it is a fair price for what you get especially compared to cable. I would consider the value for the money before automatically cancelling

Back when we signed up for Netflix it was only 5 or 6 bucks a month for one DVD out at a time AND unlimited streaming. Then they raised the price and now they are raising it again like you said. :( We are probably going to go DVD only. While we have occasionally found some great stuff through the streaming, MOST of the instant movies are trash and obscure stuff and plus, just about everything is on DVD.

We are going to keep it for $23 it still is way cheaper than what we would pay to rent movies. We haven't gotten a lot of use out of it lately with the kids and hubby being gone and our move. We have 3 out and unlimited streaming.

Im not happy about the price change but i love netflix. If i dont get the use out of it ill lower my plan, or cancel. Basic cable would be about the same.

Think about it this way – they added streaming to their service as part of their original service 2 years ago(?) for Netflix subscribers. Now they want customers to pay extra (almost double) for it? Is the quality of streaming improved? Will we be offered more new releases for streaming? No. So in essence existing customers (we’ve used Netflix for the last 6 years) to pay double for something we already felt we paid for. Now if they originally offered streaming as an additional service with an additional charge then that would be fair. But to tack it on after the fact and then add no new benefits and double the price – nah.

Think about it this way… you pay for high speed internet service at the low (ha ha) price of $35 a month and that includes the high speed router. You then get a notice from your provider that they are going to charge you an additional $25 for the high speed router you have already been using or you can downgrade to their dial up modem at the same price you are already paying.

I plan to cancel at the end of this month, about a week before my billing will start. I am not paying double. The reason I got it is that I can put my daughter to watch a show or movie on the computer while my husband is busy with his soccer games or whatever and she is occupied for an hour or so. And of course the dvds but I can get that via Redbox. I like netflix because I can get some older movies but since I don't watch much TV I am fine without it.

We're going to cancel when the billing changes. We currently use both DVDs and streaming and feel the price is fair for both. With the price going up 60%, it's no longer worth it to us. We'll watch football on TV in the fall instead of movies and then reassess in the winter/spring. But yeah - because they raised the prices, Netfix will lose us as customers.

We actually signed up for Netflix when we heard people griping about the new prices and realized it was so cheap, even with the increase. Seriously, it's a good deal. We've signed up for the streaming and DVDs and use it all the time. The kids love it ... lots of access to new shows for them. If you're not big movie-watchers, then maybe you don't get your money's worth, but we definitely have so far.

I'm annoyed by the new pricing, but since we use our streaming constantly and a lot of the things we want to watch are DVD only, we will be keeping our service the same.

We had the streaming/dvd plan. We canceled. We dont watch movies that often, and that $20 a month can go towars something else. I am not happy about the price change at all. Its pure greed and I pay enough for greediness with the utility companies

Netflix may have chaged its pricing but I still say it's worth it.

We don't have cable but use Netflix instead. As long as they remain cheaper than cable. I will keep Netflix and my free tv chanels. We do streaming and DVD's.

Even though we have had our membership since early 2005 on Aug 31st I'm cancelling. It is way too much of a price increase for us. I would love to keep it but I will figure out something else. Worse comes to worse I will go back to buying dvds and dvds sets.

I am going to cancel mine and check out the blockbuster one - I may go back to netflix I may not - There are things I like about it and things that I don't like about it.

we canceled our cable and made the switch to netflix and huluplus. we are happy with this. If there is anything new playing that we want to watch, we find it online. we have saved about $40/month. we just use the streaming only. I need to look into this redbox thing. I see them all over, just haven't stopped to look yet!

I have Netflix and plan to keep it but only for streaming only. We will be streaming it through our Xbox and on computer. Will cancel the dvd side of it. If I didn't have the Xbox, I would cancel it all together because for us it wouldn't be worth it.

We went from two dvd's at a time to one dvd at a time and the price stayed about the same.

We considered streaming only, but it is nice to get newer movies too.

I am going to go to streaming only. My kids love to watch the cartoons. I don't use the dvds, I usually get one and have it for a few weeks then remember to return it. So I am not upset with the price change because I never really used the dvds. Plus I like to go to redbox and decide at the moment what mood I am in and I won't feel guilty anymore because I was already paying for it with Netflixs.

we switched to dvds only but with the pricing changes was able to up it to 2 dvds at a time. we also get free movies from the library and occassional movies from Redbox. yes we do have cable but they show the same movies over and over. we don't have hbo or any of the movie channels.

The price increase starts right when my child and I go back to school. Our school activities are very demanding so we won't have as much time, as in summer, to spend watching anything. So I'm keeping my eye on the selection available. If the selection improves in the near future then I'll keep Netflix.
