Needing Ideas for a Birthday Party for My Daughter Who Will Be 7 - Spring,TX
My daughter will be turning 7, and she would like to have a slumber party. I thought about having someone come to the house and providing a hair style, make-up, manicure session. Does anyone know of someone who will provide that service? I am open to any other ideas or suggestions. Any party game ideas?
Thanks for your input!

If you know any responsible teenage girls in the neighborhood they would probably be happy to come over and be the stylist for a couple of hours to make a little money.
Also there is a salon called Sweet and Sassy located at Market Street in The Woodlands that specializes in girl's spa parties. They do hair and nails, etc. but that's obviously a much more expensive option.

Try your local high school cosmetology class. I'm sure the teacher could suggest some girls that would be great!

Actually at 7 yrs, if you did one thing of the whole beauty regime, the girls would be happy. Recommendation that you contact another mom or two and provide an elaborate make up session complete with dressy clothes (time to raid your closets!). Once the girls are in their makeup and dress clothes, make a big deal out of taking pictures. If it early enough, take them outside. Then go out to eat. Steak and Ale is a nice place that has a fairly decent kids meal at a reasonable price. Lasagna House on 1960 has a nice atmosphere with a nice kids menu.

We did this and it's much more fun if you and a friend or relative apply the makeup and fix the hair. I went to Macy's and Dillards and some discount stores and found several $100 prom dresses for under $15 each. We then had a pageant. It was great fun and the girls loved it. Just use hair clips and rubber bands to pull the dresses behind them and knot them up so they don't fall down.
Good luck!
