Needed Medical Info on Burning Mouth Syndrome

From what I understand, this can also be a related perimenopausal symptom.
Does she find that the burning fluctuates with her cycle?
Have her keep a journal of when the symptoms occur and when they subside. If nothing else this can be added info for her doctor.

My mom had this and had a really hard time figuring out what to do. She ended up taking probiotics to reduce stomach acid. Helped her!

Can be known as Glossitis. These can cause burning mouth:

Dehydration

Low vit B levels (use liquid vit b complex, and liquid vit b12 under the tounge for best absorption)

Iron deficienct anemia

thrush (a yeast infection) , a white coating on tounge-use listerine 3x day

diabetes/sjogrens/RA (caused by high cortisol)

Poisoning (does she live near a sewage plant or cement plant (calcium oxide)

hardened arteries (dont take extra caclium or vit d supps)

Oral cancer

side effects to drugs she now takes?

She may want to look at OAS (oral allergy syndrome) as a possible problem. It can cause many things like swelling, itching and the burning feel when eating certain foods.

I was being treated for this for years with no relief, until I started taking Prilosec for GERD.
