Hi a month ago i was one of the unfortunate women to have had an ectopic pregnancy. It ruptured and lost a tremendous amount of blood but i'm recovering nicely.
Four days after surgery i had light bleeding (think it was my period)
Was expecting my period on Wednesday and i am usually on time. Is it likely to be late or irregular after this type of pregnancy?
Thanks so much....

What can I do next?

I am so sorry for your loss. I also had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. Mine happened a month or so ago on 9/16. I was told it would take about 6 weeks to start my period. Well, it only took 4 weeks. I think it's normal to have a couple of irregular cycles after our situation? Here's to a healthy recovery and hopes that you and I never have to go through that again!

So sorry you had to go thru this, I've been there. For me, it did take a couple of months to go back to normal, and I had bleeding for a short time after my surgery. Of course the best advice is to give your doctor a call, just for reassurance, but it wouldn't be unusual for what you've been through. God bless!

Hi, T.. I'm sorry this happened to you. After any type of pregnancy, it may take a while for your periods to return to normal. The bleeding you have experienced, though, is probably NOT your period. You should at least call the doctor and find out if this is a problem. I'm sure that some discharge from the surgery is possible through the vagina, but it's better to find out for sure. Don't be shy about asking your doctor these kinds of questions.

I will say a prayer for you to recover fully from your surgery.

Peace,

Syl

Considering what you just went through (so glad to hear you're recovering well), I would expect to have some irregular periods for a month or two. Give it another week before getting worried. Then, if you need peace of mind, call the doctor and see what they say.
