My mom is getting married for the second time Aug 29th. Both of my boys are standing up. My oldest is 8 and wears a size 10 and my younger one is 5 and wears a size 5-6. I need to find a place that rents suits. I don't want a tux, just a plain black suit. I've looked at the Menswarehouse but they are way to pricey for me. I was just going to buy a couple but then there going to grow out of them so fast I don't want to waste the money. Can you please give me some suggestions?

What can I do next?

Go to Kohl's! You can get some nice suits there and you can use a coupon and it's not too much. You could sell on EBAY or craigslist.

Or you could buy on EBAY or craigslst. I never found a rental place and had to go through this when my brother got married.

The other thing I do, is ask my friends who have boys. Sometimes they have stuff in their closet.

My boys both just stood up in a wedding and I discovered that you can buy tuxes on amazon way cheaper than you can rent or buy a suit or tux, I got one for $25 and one for $40...and they looked fabulous and came with every single piece (minus shoes).

Check out Burlington Coat Factory & see if you can find affordable suits then go to as many parties as you can lol. They really are great for that kind of stuff, though. You may find a nice deal.

Have you tried Freecycle? It' www. freecycle.org I believe (if .org doesn't work, try .com). You choose the area you live or work in and then e-mail a post of what you are looking for to that group. You have to set up a Yahoo e-mail. It's all free stuff that you can ask for or give away and I have gotten some pretty specific items from there. Good Luck

I don't know where you live but try a second hand shop. We did that for many years. Little people grow so fast so of course you want to rent one, but rentals aren't cheap either.
Oh I just saw where you live, go to St. Vincent's by Jewel near you or across the way is another second hand shop. I can almost guarantee you'll find something.

We just purchased a tux on ebay for our "adopted" grandson for has mom's wedding next month for 20.00 and he is a size 6. We did not want to waste the money either on the renting the tux at 50.00 so we told his mom we would buy it for the 20.00, even if he never wears it again, we are still ahead. We figure she can sell it or give it to someone else who might need it.

Try shopping at the resale shops for children's dress clothes/suits. When my kids were young, I bought a lot of things for them at resale shops. Most of the merchandise is like new. The shops don't usually take items that have too much wear.

tough one to be sure!! Suits are NOT big for boys these days....even in the best of times, they are hard to find. My best suggestion is purchasing in (it is the most cost efficient)....try JC Penney's outlet it is where I have had the best luck..on-line would also be a good place to check. I have found the best prices and selection usually happen around EASTER (I have 5 boys and even though they can be passed down, there's over 10yrs between #1 and #4 so styles change as well as some of them being thin, others average)
In neighborhoods with more "ethnic" stores the little "mom and pop" kid clothing shops often have better selections...I would expect to pay between $50 and $100 per suit. Good Luck!

I'm not sure they rent, but the prices might be very reasonable. Call Martinelli's Children's Wear on 95th street in Evergreen Park. Talk only to Joan and tell her that K. S in Glen Ellyn told you to try her...Their phone is ###-###-#### & 87

I bought a VERY reasonable suit at JC Penney for my som's Communion. They often have 40-50% off sales. There are plenty of coupons, too. If you don't have any, look under "JC penney coupons" on google.
Good luck.
