Need to Know Your "Go To" Solution for Filthy Clothes
My 3 year old son comes home from daycare with filthy clothes from the playground. Mainly it is sand/dirt stains. I cannot believe how hard it is to get his clothes clean. I've tried saturating his clothes in spray-n-wash and gonzo, as well as color bleach and normal bleach for whites, greys, and most lights.
Any ideas??? I am getting tired all this pre-wash laundry work and still having stained clothing!

I've found that adding Oxyclean powder to loads and letting them soak can be helpful. Also -- the sun works as well./

Wow, great suggestions from everyone! I have a 12 y.o. boy and I'm going to head out to buy some OxyClean this weekend! Here's hoping it works on some of our stains!
The silver lining to filthy clothes...your kid is running around and active enough to get filthy...always a good thing!

I use SHOUT spray and then take a bit of powdered OXY CLEAN and rub i into a sort of paste. I have a very active 5 year-old son and it works on everything!!! On the rare occasion that you need a 2nd application, check the badly stained item BEFORE putting it in the dryer. The dryer will set things so that they never come out. Good luck!!!

My cleaning products are great. I use Mela-Power. It works GREAT! It is also less expensive than most store bought detergent and is all NATURAL!

Hi K.
I also have 2 boys who are FILTHY by the end of the day. I have found the best solution! I use a spray bottle filled with 1/2 tide w/downy and 1/2 water (shake before use). I heavily spray any dirty area and either let them soak or toss them right in the washer. I am amazed how well it works with out any scrubbing! Happy Washing!

K.,
Yup, Oxi Clean laundry spray works great. I find that if I spray it on and leave it a couple of hours or days, even though the directions say "up to 10 minutes" that it really does the job. Obviously the earlier you get to the stain the better but even greasy toddler hand prints on my shirts from last summer have been removed. I never go without it now.

Simple green is a miracle worker! I used it on my running shoes when I ran cross-country in HS and it too out all the mud and gunk and made them look like new. I just spray it on then put them in the laundry, for worse stains you can let it soak in, first. I guess you could put it right in the washer, but I don't know how much you would need. The other trick I learned was using dish washer powder to clean whites. It's better then bleach!!

we have the same problem when my son comes home from preschool. I've found that adding a scoop of oxiclean with the detergent and pre-treating stains with Oxiclean spray the same day works wonders.

Hi K. I use arm & hammer plus oxiclean laundry detergent. It works on alot of stains. I even put some on a oil stain that I have on my shirt for months, let it set and it took it right out. By far its one of the best detergents I have used. I have a 5 year old boy and it takes every thing right out of his clothes and some of the colors even look better.
good luck N.
