Need to Know Where to Take My Three Year Old

I am new to the Las Vegas area, we are in the Centennial Hills area. I am looking for some evening or weekend sports/swimming activities to get my three year old involved in. I checked into the YMCA on Durango and I found that they have what is called the "itty bitty" baseball, basketball, and football sessions but it looked like (on their website) these sessions were over? Does anyone know of any other programs simmilar to these that are getting ready to begin for the winter?

What can I do next?

I just wanted to say hi because I am from Michigan too! My little man is 11 months old, so I'm not in the know about activities. Do you get the Nevada family magazine? If not, grab one from the library. It may have some information for you.

I take my 17-month year old to Water Wings Swim School off of Durango for swimming lessons. They are open year-round and have some weekend classes available. There number is 227-swim, they also have a website you check-out. "waterwings.com" Hope this helps!

I had my son signed up for gymnastics at the NorthLas Vegas rec center on Alexander and allen 4025 Allen Lane
North Las Vegas, NV 89032 ###-###-#### there is a pool but it's outdoors. If you are willing to make the drive the Desert Breeze on Durango and Twain has an indoor pool. The summerlin rec center has soccer and basketball for that age but the waiting list is insane we have been on it for over a year. My son liked the gymnastics there are lots of different times and that rec center is really nice we just have moved too far away now. If you want to spend the money there is my gym and gymboree. ttyl ~V

PS I see someone was wondering about boundries there are none anyone can go to the North Las Vegas Rec center. You should check it out it is the nicest one outside of Henderson. There is a small one on Ann near Buffalo I called Cimmaron Rose they have a few things but it's worth the drive to the one on Allen. (I lived in Aliente and my sister lives off Ann and Jones. She takes her daugter there for ballet)

Hi, try the Clark county website, they have recreational activities, and try Las Vegas parks and rec. I live in north Las Vegas, the city has some great classes for my son who is also 3. I don't know if there is boundary restrictions. also Las Vegas Althetic Club on Rainbow and Lake Mead has classes for tots. you don't have to be a member, it's a seperate company that have rooms in the front. they have gymnastics and a sports class, the run monthly and are 1-2 days a week. good luck, we would also be interested in play dates, I also work full time and would be available evenings or weekends.

Hi A.,
I think you are the A. I know from church. :)
Anyway, we are looking to get Aidan into something, too, but I think we are going to wait til Spring as I will be graduated and it will be less cold. There is a park over off Ann road (across the way from the shopping center) and that is what gave me the idea in the first place. They were very affordable and offered a "variety" ball class where they would be doing a little bit of everything depending on the week (football, baseball, etc.). I don't think they started up again til spring, but maybe....anyway, I will let you know what I find out and maybe they can be on the same team. (This one seemed to be noncompetitive, just to get the basics down).

Hi, I am also looking into getting my kids involved in diffrent programs, and recently heard of the diffrent community centers around town. They have all sorts of activites ranging in all diffrent age groups, so that might be a good place to start, and what i love about it is that it is affordable!

I would check the Clark County parks department. I have my daughter in a tiny tots sports class. They have different classes at different community centers. The website is www.accessclarkcounty.com, and click on the Recreation and Culture tab at the top. They are signing up for classes right now.
