Need to Find a New Ob/Gyn

My health insurance is changing, and my current Ob/Gyn (Pam Richards), who is great, is not an option anymore. She delivered our first child, and I trust her immensely, so the thought of randomly choosing a new doctor at the time when we are talking about having another baby is difficult. I would welcome any information (positive or negative) about Ob/Gyn doctors in Colorado Springs. The top three providers I am considering, who are covered on my new insurance, are Lee Ann Hammond, Peter Bianco, and Roland Baiza. However, I could choose from any doctors with CSHP, Academy Women's Healthcare, Colo. Spgs. Partners in Women's Health, or Associates in Women's Care. Thanks for any thoughts you have to offer that will make my decision easier.

What can I do next?

Dr. Judith Brinkman (CSHP on Barnes). She's great! Very straight forward. Also, I saw her for all of my prenatal visits except for one throughout my pregnancy. Lots of my friends said they rarely got to see their doctor so that's a huge plus.

Please research further. I PREVIOUSLY used one that you have listed and this person was...well...unavailable.....didn't show for the delivery and just goofy in general...and gave me BAD advice (the wrong antibiotics for strep!).
I live in the same area as you...
check to see if you can use Baer/Ruyat or see who is now with Assoicates...
call the hospital and ask who the CHARGE nurse would recommend on a couple different shifts....
Good luck...I have been there.

Hi - I've heard great things about Dr. Hammond. I saw Dr Bianco for my high-risk pg, w/ twins. He is no-fuss, straight shooter - I needed that after big faul-up with other Dr's office (you don't mention the name so I won't either). My best advise is to be comfortable w/ your care & don't be shy!! You have to be in control of your health care. Best wishes & enjoy this wonderful time...M.

I have not personally seen Dr Baiza but I do go to the same office. I see Dr. Meredith Cassidy and I love her. She was my OB for my last pregnancy and this pregnancy and would go back to her again. I do have a friend that see's Baiza and she likes him (is actually with him for her 3rd pregnancy now)if that is helpful in any way.

Dr. Baiza is wonderful! I would recommend him to anyone! I had a few other doctors from their office stop by to check on me after delivery and they were all very friendly as well.

I recommend Dr. Roland Baiza!!! I used him for my whole pregnancy and he was great. My pregnancy with my little boy was very high risk and he took a lot of precautions. I will use him for all of my future pregnancies and other needs.

I love my doctor. He is Dr. Weary at Academy Women's Healthcare Associates. All of the doctors that I have met there have been great, though. Dr. Baiza actaually delivered my last baby because he was the one on call at the time. I like him a lot, too.
Both of my sister-in-laws go to Dr. Hammond and really like her. So I think she would be a good choice as well.
I had a horrible experience with Dr. Jordan a few year ago, and I would not recomment her. Good luck with your search.

I have been really happy with the CSHP group on Barns on the North side of Town. I see a PA there Jeanie Sweet, who has been supportive and helpful. They do not call you back with test results, you have to call them, but otherwise they have been great. I hope this helps.

Hi there
Dr. Baiza delivered my daughter 7 months ago and he is wonderful. I had a pretty difficult labor and he remained calm the whole time and kept me calm the whole time. He's easy to talk to and knows what he is doing. He has a great personality also. My husband and I both really like him and he will deliver our next child :-D
