I am looking to lose weight and was wondering if anyone would be interested in excersising with me. I hate to do it myself. I am not very motivated. I was thinking of walks with the kids, or if anyone know of a gym that offers daycare. I would really like to do a group thing, but will accept any ideas. Thank you.

What can I do next?

East Shore Atheletic Club is an exclusive gym but offer's many great amenities. They have child care services for as cheap as $5 per visit. I recently joined ESAC & the great thing about it is, you get a free membership to not just one, but ALL of the locations in Charleston...I could lose about 20 pounds, so if you're still interested in a work-out buddy, let me know! :)

Where do you live at? and what times would you go? I am 30 yrs old, one 11 yr old son who lives with my husband and I, and two stepchildren 7 and 15 who live with their mother.

I belong to a gym on Dorchestor called east shore. They have a daycare there. They have a good amount of equipment there too and personal trainers. The personal trainers are more then willing to answer any questions you have. the also have a smoothie bar there and internet, tanning beds, hair salon, pool, message palor, just about anything you need. They also offer arobic classes for all fitness levels. Me and my sister planning on going back to the gym on monday. If you would like to come we would enjoy the company.

Your email doesnt say exactly where you are but if you are in the Summerville SC area, I can highly recommend Pivotal Fitness Center on Trolley Road. They have two separate daycares, one for younger, one for older. They have a ton of equipment, lots of classes to motivate you. You are sure to find something that you like. They also have a ladies only side so you can work out without the men around. The atmosphere is really nice, not a lot of pick ups going on. They keep it really clean and they have some really nice folks working there. To top it off there is a tanning salon as well as the Nutrition Zone. They are always having enrollment specials so you may be able to catch a good deal. Good luck to you, losing weight is really tough, I know personally:)

Hi S.. I am very interested in going for walks with the kids, but I'm not really able to go out right now as my husband and I only have one car for the moment. If you would like to walk and would like to come here to my neighborhood in Summerville I could do that....but I hate to make you come out of your way. Also I just had to tell you about this. I recently bought the Turbo Jam workout videos, and they are AWESOME! I know you said that you really need the motivation to help you, but let me say that I have fallen in love with them. I actually look forward to working out each day! And when I started I was in horrible shape, had no energy, etc. The workouts are great, you get a set of three dvd's total, 5 workouts ranging from just learning the moves, a 20 minute workout all the way to a 45 minute workout. You can get the dvd's on QVC.com for a good bit cheaper than if you just go to the Turbo Jam website. I have been doing the workouts for about two full weeks now, and I already have lost 4 lbs, and my energy levels are so much better now!
I also wanted to pass this link along to you if you would be interested in a Moms/playgroup....

If your husband is navy then you can go to the gym on the base for free. I currently go to the Air Force Base and work out with a friend who's husband is military. They do not have daycare but they do have a playroom with a TV. We both take our kids and they have tredmills and eliptical machines in the play room. We always take turns watching the babies so the other can use the weight machines. It is much better than joining a gym where you have to sign a contract.
