Another good one is Little Miss Magic by Jimmy Buffet. Wonderful song for a little girl.

I love the Bonnie Raitt version of the song, Baby Mine, originally from Dumbo. Its really slow jazzy/bluesy.

A song I think would be nice (and that I used for slideshows of my boys) would be Let Them Be Little by Billy Dean.

I have an excellent song. This song is called Find Your Wings by Mark Harris. He is a Christian singer, and I put together a slide show at church of our Sunday school kids and used this song, which brought tears to all the M.'s (and some daddy's) eyes!

These are the lyrics:
It's only for a moment you are mine to hold
The plans that heaven has for you
Will all too soon unfold
So many different prayers I'll pray
For all that you might do
But most of all I'll want to know
You're walking in the truth
And If I never told you
I want you to know
As I watch you grow

Chorus:
I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage
To dare to do great things
I'm here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings

May passion be the wind
That leads you through your days
And may conviction keep you strong
Guide you on your way
May there be many moments
That make your life so sweet
Oh, but more than memories

Chorus:

It's not living if you don't reach for the sky
I'll have tears as you take off
But I'll cheer as you fly

Chorus:

It's so hard to make all the songs go together and you really have to start with a style that you like and just keep listening until you find songs you love that go together well (assuming you need more than one song.) I'd go through the music you play for her - if there's a special lullabye you always play, try to use that as a starting point for the style you want. There have also been some great suggestions already - I'm bookmarking this for reference later!

I have had good luck with searching for classical guitar and flamenco songs. There's a lot of stuff available and it all kind of goes together. One of my favorite instrumental finds is Treasure Bay by Govi (from Guitar Greats, Best of New Flamenco.) Upbeat and moving at the same time, and makes me think of summer.

There's also some great fun stuff on children's albums - I'd look at Ralph Covert for rock-n-roll. We've used one of his songs called "All I Wanna Do is Play" a lot for kids slideshows. Celia Cruz has some great stuff too (Spanish.)

Another perfect song for pictures of kids and family having fun on summer vacation: "Wastin' my Time" by Eagles of Death Metal. (Ignore the band name, I think it's ironic - not a death metal song ;-)

For a kind of sad, sweet mood: Let it Shine by Randy Newman (from Sail Away). (I don't know if the lyrics are exactly right for a baby, but it's a great song.)

One of the happiest-sounding pop songs ever: Light and Day by Polyphonic Spree (I didn't realize this was from the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind soundtrack!) "just follow the day and reach for the sun!"

If you have cute pictures of babies hamming it up for the camera and are looking for a light, funny song to break it up: Supermodel by Jill Sobule (from the Clueless soundtrack)

Not sure if you listen/like country music at all but Tim McGraw has a new (a few months old) song out called My Little Girl...from the movie Flicka. And there's another song called "I loved her first" by Heartland. Both are beautiful songs. And there's always You Are My Sunshine

I've had this kind of montage in my head for my daughter for several years now. I haven't gotten it out of my head yet, but when I do it will be to Stevie Wonder's "PaperDoll."

Good luck and have fun!

For my daughters first b-day video I did "Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder, "Baby Mine" by Bette Midler, and "Linus and Lucy" (AKA the Peanuts theme Song) by the VinceGuaraldi Trio. "Linus and Lucy" has no words, but it's a great active song for capturing a moving baby.

I would try Marc Cohen. He has a beatiful song he wrote for his daugther on his second album. Also, James Taylor (how sweet it is) or Billy Joel (she's got a way). Another good song is Stevie Wonder's "sign sealed delivered, or Aretha Franklin's "Baby I love you."

Hope those inspire you a bit.

Good luck, and if you can, please try to find the marc cohen song. I will search too. It's on his second album, it's the last song. It's so beautiful.

I had created a video montage for my sister and when it showed the pictures of her kids I used the song "Tell Me Why" by Pat Benatar. It's a BEAUTIFUL song ~ there wasn't a dry eye in the house! The lyrics are below.

Tell me why the stars do shine
Tell me why the ivy twines
Tell me why the sky's so blue
And then I'll tell you just why I love you
Because God made the stars to shine
Because God made the ivy twine
Because God made the sky's so blue
Because God made you, that's why I love you
Tell me why the stars do shine
Tell me why the ivy twines
Because God made the sky's so blue
Because God made you, that's why I love you

'In My Daughter's Eyes' by Martina McBride. It practically brings me to tears:

In my daughter's eyes I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light and the
world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me gives me
strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes

And when she wraps her hand
around my finger
Oh it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about

It's hangin' on when your heart
has had enough
It's giving more when you feel like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
Though she'll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you see how happy
she made me
For I'll be there
In my daughter's eyes
