SAS shoes are expensive and not much to look at, but are TOTALLY comfortable. You may have to drive to San Antonio to get a pair though. www.sasshoes.com The factory is fun - they have penny candies and 10 cent popcorn, 25 cent sodas, 25 cent fresh-baked cookies and a gift store. You can spend an hour in the store just walking around. The ladies there that help you try on shoes are very nice too.

I would have him seen by a foot doctor, he might have heal spurs, and might need further help then what you can find on your own.

Ask your hairdresser. They know best because they stand all day and they talk to other women about shoes all day!

Something with good arch support is a must. He should try some Birkenstocks. They are the best arch support I've ever found, and I can go all day in them.

Just something to think about based on my experience. Ask him if the new balance shoes seem to be a bit better than the rest? I know they aren't completely doing the trick, but if he has wide feet, new balance shoes are actually a bit wider than most shoes. I have been loving my new balance shoes for the last 5 years or so, I didn't realize why they felt better than pretty much every other shoe I had, I knew dress shoes were uncomfortable but dealt with that, flip flops were always fine...a pair of reeboks I had was absolute torture, and my work boots were awful. Turned out I had wide feet, lol...so now I know, I think it wasn't really an issue until after my pregnancy with my daughter, but LOTS of people have wide feet and just jam their feet into normal shoes. Another thing to think about, does he have flat feet? My hubby does, and what kind of shoes he wears make a BIG difference for him. Hope this helped :)

Clarks, Merrells, or Danskos.

Get him clogs. Uggs sells them and if you go to Zappos.com and type in Mens mules/clogs you will get a lot of different brands. My husband is a surgeon and he wears them in the OR.

SAS shoes for men and also can he have a cushioned mat for where he stands?
Also Berkenstocks-they cost more but you can get them on eBay and my husband did the same thing for 16 years.

They are a little bit expensive ($75-$100) but I swear by Doc Martens. They need to be broken in just a bit, but after that they are a dream for feet. I have a pair that I've owned for 12 years and worn the heck out of them, and they are still in fantastic shape.

SAS! There's one near the Parks Mall. They last forever too!!

Do they have to be athletic shoes?
Clarks makes mens shoes and are REALLY comfy.
Also Rockports are good for men.
Those are the ones my hubby thinks are most comfy, anyway...good luck!

Skechers Shape Ups for men! My husband stands all day and has a work pair and non-work pair. They have a style called "Workers" or something like that. It's a black tennis shoe. He loves them and if he could make a commission on all the ones he has referred, we would be rich. :)

Back in the 'old days' when money was scarce and before all the new name brand stuff, my mother worked on concrete for hours on end. She always carried a 2nd pair of shoes and changed at lunch. Worth a try since he already owns several kinds/brands of good shoes???

Wow, you have so many suggestions. I have feet that get very tired and sore as well and I wear either Birkenstock or Olukai. I need a good arch support and these two brands deliver.

Try custom fit orthotics. They have helped me a ton. Pricey, but worth it.

I used to work on a hard tile floor all day walking and I found Skechers to be great.

To me the best shoes to stand in are SAS. I worked on my feet for 30 yrs,my feet hurt all the time till I got SAS. There is a factory in San Antonio where I went and got them. Good luck hope this helps and have a blessed day.

My feet would sting for days and even a week end did not relieve it. The doctor sold me some rubber sort of a u shape heal deal insert and that worked better then my $400 inserts from a specialist. Good Luck G. W

They come in sizes and styles for men. I have had a job where I stood on tile floors most of the day. These shoes have a sole that is phenomenal...they never get uncomfortable and your feet feel good all day.

I would say Dansko’s also! I have terrible feet issues but with these I can go for days! They take a little getting used to but once you have them they will likely be the only shoe you own. They are not the most fashionable shoes for men but he will be able to stand forever! www.dansko.com is the site, they have an outlet near longwood gardens that you can get the shoes for a lot cheaper and can try different styles on! The nice thing about them is they support they offer puts the back in alignment so he will have better posture after wearing them for a few days.

Asics or Merrils handsdown. He needs to go to shoe store like Lukes Locker to get properly fitted.

Sneakers won't cut it. Dankso shoes are what nurses, doctors, and chefs wear; all professions where you don't get to sit down a lot They're mostly clog-style for men, which he might not like, but let me tell you, it's so worth it. They are the most comfortable shoes in the world. They last forever and are so worth the cost.
