Need Recommendation for Pediatric Ophthalmologist in New York State

Our eight-months old child has just been diagnosed with strabismus (i.e. crossed eyes) and needs eye muscle surgery. However, the current waiting time for surgery is about 10 months in our country (i.e. Canada). We would like to bring her to US for consultation and possibly for surgery. Could anyone recommend a reputable pediatric ophthalmologist in New York State? Thanks.

Dear Q.,
Check out the following group of physicians (affiliated with NYU hospital in NY city)

My daughter had tear duct surgery with Dr. Emily Ceisler, who was excellent.
I work at a different hospital and we routinely refer people to that practice (for simple and complicated eye conditions).
I hope that everything goes well for you and your little one!

Dr. Fredrick Wang. Not sure if I'm spelling his first name correctly. Just google his name. He is very well known & a very nice guy.

Good luck!

Petiatric Eye Dr., link above. My coworker's son is an eye dr. and he recommended Dr. Lichtenstein from Pediatric Eye Doctor. They are located in Queens NY. We went to him when my daughter was in 4th grade, she had something stuck in her eye and we cudn't get it out. They were very compassionate, and the dr. got my daughter laughing, as well as taking the foreign object out of her eye.

When my daughter was in 2nd grade, she had a vision problem that I was told glasses would not correct. I took her to vision therapy to this place: http://www.visiontherapysuccess.com/ and it worked wonders. It was time consuming to go 2X/week, and do the homework, but the payoffs were worth it.
