Need Quick Advice: Tipping for Sofa Delivery?

What do you usually tip for furniture delivery? I've looked online and the answers are all over the place. Thought I'd see what other moms tip.

We're having a new sofa and loveseat delivered this morning and it just has to be set down in our family room. No stairs or complicated obstacles.

ETA: A lot of people don't tip, but etiquette says that you do. I'm reading anywhere from $5/piece of furniture to $20/person, so it's hard to figure out what's appropriate.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for the input! I've decided to give $20 as a tip, so $10 each.

I never did tip for that. It costs enough to pay for them to bring it. i have never read anywhere that any body else tips for it.

If it was two guys, I would probably tip $20. It's only $10 apiece, but I figure that gets their lunch.

I know you are paying to have it delivered, but I think it is a gracious thing to do if you can afford it. It's not required, but they sure appreciate it...

You don't need to tip. The person making the delivery is either a store employee or is paid by the store. I've never heard of anyone tipping in my area.

If you paid for delivery that is your tip.

You pay to have furniture delivered, so I wouldn't tip. Many stores do not allow employees to accept tips.

Did you pay extra for it to be delivered? If yes, then I wouldn't tip.

I wouldn't tip a sofa delivery man. The money is always welcome so if you are rich and feeling generous, give them some of it.

Good luck to you and yours.
