Need Present Ideas for Nephew Graduating High School
My nephew is graduating high school next week, and I am at a loss as to what to get him. I want to spend around $100. He is 18 and will be going to college in the fall. I know he already has a fridge and microwave. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I remember how much I loved getting cash when I was graduating from high school. It's so hard to pick an item out that the graduate would really like but money is ALWAYS a great choice!

With gas being as expensive as it is, I would guess a gas card would be really appreciated.

What about a really nice alarm clock with a CD player, alarm, projection ability for the time (lol). Or maybe even a really nice phone or even the alarms with ALL the features. :)
You could also spend $50 on the clock (or another gift) and give him $50, too.

I agree that money is the best way too. But sometimes it doesn't feel right. My sister is graduating and heading to college and we used the holidays as a time to get the bigger items...fridge, microwave, laptop, etc...so I was at a loss too. Then I decided to do a "freshman survival kit" for her...Target gift card, Starbucks gift card, small laundry and bath items, bottle opener, gum/candy, ramen noddles, easy mac...all of the little things that no one thinks of until you have that late night cram session, you're out of clothes, etc.

W.,
For special grads, I have put together a basket of supplies.
I get a new laundry basket and fill it with towels (you know boys just need dark colors, stripes, something that coordinates). I generally get a couple of each size. It is a gift that will last all through college.
Hope that helps,
H.

Cash/gift cards are good. If you want to do something alittle bit more creative, you can get a plastic laundry basket or a laundry tote and fill it w/laundry soap, dryer sheets, fabric softener, shower items, like mesh sponge, deoderant, shower gel, shampoo,,towels, and rolls of quarters. Household items you might buy for yourself, bathroom spray, good smelly things for the room,,,shower slippers, razors...whatever! The possiblities are endless as to what you can put in it!

Take that crisp beautiful $100 bill and stick it in a card with a heartfelt message of congratulations. That is what all 18 year olds want! I seem to remember that day when all those cards filled with green came my way and it was great great great!! LOL
