Need Phone Jacks, Shelving and Treadmill Moved

Hi moms, I looked through the old requests but wondered if anyone had any updated ideas for me. I need a couple phone jacks put in, some shelves hung up and a treadmill and twin bed moved to the basement. I have called a couple handyman companies but they are really expensive I thought I'd ask you all for reasonable or private people you know of. Thanks

What can I do next?

Rather than moving the phone jacks, it may be cheaper to buy a set of cordless phones. You can pick up cordless systems at Best Buy for under $100. Only one phone needs to be plugged into a phone jack. The others just need to have the chargers plugged into an electrical outlet. We have an older home with limited phone jacks, so we have a set by AT&T bought at Best Buy. It came with a base unit that has an answering machine, plugs into the phone jack, and also charges one phone. It also came with 3 additional chargers and 3 additional handsets. It works great! It's the newer 6.0 mHz system and doesn't interfere at all with our wireless network, which some of our other cordless phones used to do.

As for the other odd jobs, you can check to see if some of your neighbors, other moms, or people at church know someone who would do it. A talented HS or college student should be able to handle it or maybe a retired person.

Check with your local high school. Our Junction City HS requires kids to get community service hours and they may have a technology class that could help you with the wiring and shelving. As far as moving furniture, a couple of teens would be great for that, too. Junction City Nazarene Church offers many helps, too, if you are close by.

Dear B.
Hi! If you are attending a church ask some people
if they know how to do some of things you need done.
If you know of a couple of teenagers that could carry
the things to the basement for you.
I hope this helps B.

Ask older gentlemen from your church or call the local high school and see if they have students they recommend to move the items for you. I did that when we moved to Manhattan, the lady I was speaking to actually sent her two sons over to move my furniture in. They were football players so we were done in a short amount of time. It was great!

Good luck,
D.

Check some of the teens in your neighborhood, they may be able to help with the moving part. Good luck and God Bless.

Do you belong to a church ?
You might be surprised at the response you get if you mention what you need to the youth director or college age director.

Hi B.,
My husband is a marketing professional but does handyman services during evenings and weekends. He is insured and certified and has excellent references. He charges $35.00 an hour and does quality work without taking up your whole day! From what you have listed, it sounds like this job may take a couple hours, but he could give you a free estimate. The business name is jrbhomeimprovement and we are located in western Shawnee. Feel free to contact him at ###-###-#### or ###-###-####.
