Need Pediatric Opthalmologist

We've been noticing some issues with my 2 1/2 yr old daughter's eyes/vision. So, I'm looking for recommendations for a pediatric opthalmologist. I'm looking for someone in the northern DFW area...from Colleyville to Denton to Carrollton to Plano...and anywhere in between. I'll drive a little ways for a good doctor. Thanks so much!!!

What can I do next?

My son has had vision problems since birth due to being born premature. We have been seeing Dr. Ann Ranelle in Fort Worth (off Camp Bowie) for about 18 months now since his original eye doctor retired. We like her. The only downside is that her office is pretty crowded and they run the appointments very close together so if one appointment gets off it seems to really set their schedule back. We still go because when it is your turn she doesn't make you feel rushed and is willing to discuss all of your concerns and options with you.

It would be a little out of your way but I have a wonderful pediatric opthamologist in north dallas. She treated me as a child and i am now taking my 6 month old to see her. She is older but one of the top specialist in Dallas.

I also really recommend Dr. Packwood and his colleague Dr. Alan Norman. If surgery is needed though go with Dr. Norman for sure but both are great for just eye exams. I was a little turned off that Dr. Packwood doesn't do certain sutures (My 8 mo. old had to have surgery near the eye) and he even said himself that Dr. Norman is an excellent surgeon. But we saw both and as far as personality and just eye exams they are both really good. They have two clinics too, in Hurst and in dt Ft. Worth...

We have been taking our daughter to Dr George Beauchamp in Grapevine for 18 months now. We have been very pleased. Our daughter had a lazy eye and very poor vision due to strabismus. When we started with Dr. Beauchamp her vision in her left eye was 20/150 with glasses. Now she is 20/30 with the same prescription. I really liked that he did not immediately go for surgery and we have had tremendous progress without surgical intervention.

Hello S.,
I highly recommend Dr. George Beauchamp. I have taken all 3 of my children to see him. My youngest daughter does not respond well to men that she does not know and she never had a problem with him. He is very kind and soft spoken to children and my daughter gave him a hug when we were leaving. This is very rare for her. She is so scared around men she first meets that she has kicked her pediatricains partner between the legs when he tried to get close enough to look at her ears.
Dr. George Beauchamp's daughter has joined the practice. I have not seen her, but my best friend has and she was very pleased. I don't believe you could go wrong with either one.

Hi S.,

I highly recommend George R. Beauchamp, M.D. of Pediatric Ophthalmology. His daughter also works with him and I recommend her just as much. My children have been to both. Their office is right by Baylor Hospital - Grapevine.
