My sister wants to have an outdoor wedding for her October 24 nuptials. We had already selected a place and put down a $2,500 deposit. Last we the coordinator called and said that the building permits were expired and that the property was going to be foreclosed upon! Now I am scrambling to find an outdoor venue no more than 15 minutes from downtown Dallas (reception location) that will accommodate 150 guests. My little sister supports me a lot with my kids and I want this so bad for her. Thank you in advance for your suggestions

Thats a horrible situation to be in. I got married just north of downtown Dallas at this place called Marie Gabrielle's. The venue is gorgeous and everyone is still commenting on how good the food was. Here is the link - good luck.

The Arboretum or Texas Discovery Gardens (Fair Park) have indoor & outdoor venues for weddings. I have been to weddings at both locations & they have been beautiful! Good luck.

Winfrey Point is a house on White Rock Lake is run by the city and may be a great venue.

It's a little further than 15 minutes, but check out Paradise Cove in Grapevine. We had our wedding there and everything was perfect! Tina is awesome to work with and their prices are very reasonable.

That is so sad to here since she probably put so much thought into that place. I searched far and wide for places since I wanted an outside place in Feb that had indoor just in case. We ended up at the Discovery Gardens at Fair Park. Very much like the Arboretum yet you are not stuck with using the Arboretum vendors, but can choose your own. Takes a bit more work, but we loved how we didn't have to pay an exhorbitant amount for alcohol since we were allowed to bring whatever we wanted as long as we also had servers. The Arboretum is good as well for beauty. Another idea is the historic Old City Park and the Arlington house (off of Turtle Creek). Old City Park has a great area since you rent the whole space I believe and then can have a band and many tables underneath a covering. I may be wrong in the name of the Arlington house. It is South of Lemmon on Turtle Creek on the West side. It's real pretty and likely you've passed it not knowing what it's like inside. Great grounds and real pretty. Pricey to park, though. If you want a hotel, I loved the Stoneleigh. It has a real big balcony for guests to be on while they look at downtown. Not big enough to have the wedding outside though. Don't think there is any hotel you can do that with. Good Luck!
