I'm hosting a couples bridal shower for the 1st time and I need some ideas on games and favors. She is having a destination wedding so I'm doing a tropical theme: coconut candles in coconuts, hanging tea lights, pina coladas, tropical music, seashell decor, etc. What could I do for the sign in book and if any of you have cute ideas for a game or something different I could do, please suggest it! Even suggestions for food or dessert would be great. Or something romantic and sweet to make as decorations or give as favors. Remember, its a couples shower.
Any suggestions would be GREAT! :) Thanks!

What can I do next?

Thanks so much! I'm using the box idea for sign in, the trail mix and malibu rum for favors, and hawaian lais!

Hi Alexandra!
My name is D. and my business is a host assistant service-
While you are with your guest- my girl(s) will make sure food tables are taken care of- items are passed- dessert bought out when you want- areas kept clean- you name it- We do whatever it takes for you to enjoy your own party and reduce your stress.
I have many referrals and have done home and business events- Pietre Andreis Jewelers/Macaux Florals/ - they would actually be a great source for tropical arrangements- -ask for Jeff or Tommie and tell him I sent you ###-###-####
cute game idea- Ask the couple personal questions and write up like a "test" for guest to see who gets the most answers right- Where did they meet? their favorite resturant- How many children do they plan on? -Who is better at saving money- and have a "gift" for the winner- wine, etc.
Ask guest to come in topical wear as well!
You can try Cookies in Bloom in Grapevine- as for Johnnie and have cookies made up with the couples picture on it as a favor- tropical colors.
Greet each woman with a flower for her hair and a lei for everyone.
Could be fun....hoola hoop contest- has that tropical beach theme if its outdoors-
Nothing like beach limbo for the fun at heart! Baboo poles can be found at party stores or Lowes/Home Depot as well
Sounds like it will be lots of fun no matter what you do! -

Please call us - your type of party is our specialty- You will be able to enjoy your guests and have a host assistant at your service to have things done. We are professional, thorough, and friendly. You will be thrilled that you hired us!

I hlped with one of these a few years ago. We did a lilo and stitch cake but did not use the toys. I only used the palm trees and in the clouds it said "Congrats Steven and Veronica." Everyone got a lei as they walked in, that was my job. I made rotel cheese dip with ground meat and put it in this tropical bowl I found at the 99 cents store, we had grilled pineapples, lots of fruit for decor.. the watermelon rime with watermealon balls was a hit. I used a knife to make little triangles so it looked more party perfect.. Wings are always a hit with the guys... A big salad as well.. Burgers.. just keep it nice and simple..

Also here is a great recip for a Cheesecake Ball- you can decorate this with fake flowers etc:

1- 8oz pkg Cream Cheese, softened

1- Stick Real Butter, softened

3/4 Cup Powdered Sugar

4Tbsp Brown Sugar

1/2 tsp Vanilla

1/2 Bag mini choc chips

Pecans to taste

Cream together cream cheese, butter, vanilla. Add sugars stir well.

Mix in choc chips and pecans. Chill for 1 hr

As far as the sing in you can go to Michaels and get a blank book and get a very nice pic of the couple and use scrapbooking paper and stickers to make it very cute. I d used this idea for a baby shower but it will work. Get a cheap frame and type of something like this:

As the Bride and Groom get ready to walk down that aisle please give them any advice that would be helpful for a long lasting marriage. That way you they not only sign in but they get a piece of advice from each guests and they keep it for years to come. The picture frame is for directions so guests will know what to do. You can also use a wipe board.

We have also did recipes from the guest for the bride to be..

if the bride and groom have any pics it would be nice to put them in nice frames.. some tropical and some not. This is something the bride and groom can take home.. A gift from the hostesses.

One more thing... I saw this in a magazine but they wrapped three boxes in whatever color or them they were doing and made the slot big enough for cards and gift cards. This is so the cards and gift cards do not get lost and plus it was a nice decoration for the gift table. I have a pic if you want to see it..

I hope some of these help... Good Luck!

The newlywed game is so fun to play. Have everone fill out there address on an envelopes. Use this to draw names has who is going to be on the pannel and everyone else get to ask the questions? It is more fun and spontanious than having all the questions pre planned.... You also have the envelopes to send Thank you cards out fast and easy.. Have fun!

Hi there, Sounds fun,
Since its a tropical shower, I would make the guest sign in sheet look like an old treasure map and then as party games you could do a scavengar hunt or treasure hunt and have each couple play as teams (or pair up 2 couples to a team if there are a lot of guests) and give each one a treasure map or list and you can hide clues around the inside and out of the house or event loction and maybe have some neighbors join in the fun and hide some clues at a next door house... you can go on and on with this idea I think the guests would have a total blast and the treasure could be the party favors. (or a fun gift for the wedding couple)

My company makes cute party favors and one that comes to mind for your party is our custom soap favors. But my favorite for this event would be custom sunscreen bottles with custom tags and lables to match your theme. We do sunscreen or lotion so a lotion with a coconut scent would be great and cost less than the sunscreen. We can even do custom travel sets for each guest with shampoo, conditioner, lotion you can order your set specific to your event and we do custom lables on the travel bottles...

Good luck and if you need any favors let me know!

At my friends, the host gave us treat bags to go home with. They were so funny and just brought the "honeymoon" back. It was a bag with a "let the" tootsie roll, "Blow" pop, snickers-cause it really satisfies, condom, and a cigarette candy for when the deed was done. I saw 60 year old married couples get a real tickle out of their little treat bag. I am a SAHM of 3, ten years of marriage :)

My best friend threw a couples shower for me and my husband and it was "tropical" themed! The favors were little bags filled with a scoop of "tropical" trailmix that she found at Whole Foods (with things like dried pineapple), a mini-bottle of Malibu rum, and a tag that had instructions on how to make a tropical drink with the rum. One of the activities was "pin the fruit on the fruit hat" She had two large hula dancer pin-ups (1 male, 1 female) wearing fruit hats and a sheet of fruit stickers. Participants were given a sticker or 2, blindfolded, then told to put the fruit on the pinups. She also put our faces over the hula dancer's faces and as you can imagine, the fruit, especially the coconuts and bananas ended up in many places other than the fruit hats. :)

This was super unique, but she had a flight attendant friend who frequently flies to Hawaii buy real leis for my husband and I (the guests got fake leis). I dried them both and kept them for well over a year. You might see if a local florist can make leis for the guests of honor.
