Need New Washer and Dryer - Osseo,MN
Anyone have recommendations on a front loading washer & dryer set? Need to be quiet and stackable.
So What Happened?™
We considered the Samsung and LG but found a great deal on a set of LG so went with those. Like them so far but washer is a little noisier than I thought it would be.

Just a heads up that there is a new Cash-4-Clunkers type program for appliances that is coming soon so you may want to hold off if you can. I don't know any details but keep that in mind if you can wait.

We have Kenmore Front Loading and I love them and haven't had any problems with them!!! We paid the extra money for the pedestals as well - well worth the money for those!!

I had a Kenmore HE2, and after 4 months of having it break 4 times (once included the motor) we were finally able to exchange it. We exchanged it for the Samsung (the less expensive of the two models) and LOVE it! We have ours stacked. We love that it has a sanitize cycle, great for when the kids get sick. It also has an automatic balancing system, so It doesnt rock all over (like the Kenmore did)

We just got our first front loader and I love it! Ours is a Sanyo and they make several models. My repair guy says anything Whirlpool is the best. My front loader uses WAY less water and soap, is quiet, and spins the clothes really well so WAY less drying time. The whole process is much faster. I don't add stuff after it starts because I usually start with full loads. Yes, I have to leave the door open after using... they seal very tightly and it does smell after a couple of days. That is no big deal for me as my laundry room is off by itself in our (finished) basement.

I am interested in hearing more, too.
My sister just bought a new washer and dryer for their new home but decided against front-loading for 2 reasons - 1. you can't add things once you start it and 2. they smell if you don't leave the door open.
Are those true? Even if they are true, do the benefits outweigh the negatives?
Also, I have heard of dryers with steam - anyone have those?
TIA!
