Need a Mascara Recommendation

I have tried every drugstore mascara known to man and have been unsatisfied with the results. I have very short fine lashes and seemingly every product that claims to be "volumizing" clumps terribly (even those that claim not to). I think it is time I upgraded and tried something from a cosmetic counter, but I have no idea where to start. Does anyone have a mascara they LOVE?

OK,

Just in case you wanted something other than Lancome....(ha) I have fine lashes as well, and it seems they are even thinner since the birth of my baby. I went to sephora in Stonebriar Mall and asked them for the BEST MASCARA they had. They sold me DIOR mascara. It is a dark navy blue bottle with silver lettering on it, and on one side it sais Diorshow...anyway, my lashes have NEVER looked this good!!!

Lancome makes great mascara. The new Chanel "inimitable" is fantastic--better than Lancome. Also, Dior makes a really great one that thickens. They all range $22-28. Go to Neimans and talk to the ladies...they'll help you.

I have a reccomendation. I love my mascara so much that I started to sell it. Try the Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara. Here is a product description. It's $15 but I wouldn't use anything else.

Exclusive, all-in-one formula delivers long, thick, voluminous-looking lashes. And it has Smart Wiper™ technology that delivers the exact amount of mascara you need for maximum plumping – without the clumping.

You can look at it on my website www.marykay.com/J..valenzuela

Hope this helps.

Hi! I feel that I too have tried (and thrown away) every mascara on the planet. Arbonne International came out with an AWESOME new mascara last April (just so you know, I wasn't really fond of the mascara they had before.) But, I absolutely love the new one! Here's some info about it:

About Face Lash Colour
Two in one, this product is a combination of a colorless primer agent that conditions and preps lashes, and a mascara that offers water-resistant lash coloring. This formula won’t irritate lids and offers extended wear … that’s easy to remove. Each product includes a precision wand that defines, lengthens and separates lashes … for a truly glamorous look that lasts, in 2 shades: Black and Brown/Black.

Key Ingredients: Sandalwood, nettle and rosemary extracts, vitamin C and E

Skin Types: All

If you'd like to try some it retails for $22, but I offer all my clients wholesale prices which makes it only $14.30! Also, Arbonne offers a 45-day money-back guarantee! If you're interested, you can contact me at: ____@____.com or www.mandyolsen.myarbonne.com or ###-###-####. Good luck finding something that works for you!
Take care,
M. O.

The Arbonne mascara is the best I've ever used! WAter resistant too so no smudges, no runs! You can also be assured there aren't any harmful ingredients that could irritate your eyes. Arbonne is formulated with only the purest safest ingredients. Even some of the high end brands you buys at the mall contain harmful ingredients, by products, etc. A friend of mine has a daughter in competitive cheer and has to wear mascara. Arbonne is the ONLY one she can wear that doesnt' make her eyes irritated and water!!

There's a 45 day no risk guarantee, what do you have to lose? Here's my website, http://www.jennifercaldwell.myarbonne.com

http://www.arbonne.com/company/opportunity/people/eoa.asp...

I'd be happy to get you one to try :)

Hi - I work in the cosmetic industry. I have worked for both Lancome and YSL. In my opinion, YSL has one called Faux Cils - it's amazing! Even better than Hypnose by Lancome! Always ensure you replace your mascara every 3 months (2 months is better). Also, don't pump the mascara, it dries it out quickly. You'll love it.

I would also through out the YSL (Yves St. Laurent) mascara. It volumizes perfectly. It's a bit on the pricey side at $28, but in my opinion definitely worth it. You can get it at Saks at Willow Bend.

I agree that Lancome makes great mascara. My favorite is their Definicils. I also like SuperNova mascara. I am not sure of the maker. But it is sold at Sephora. Good luck.

Hello!

It sounds like you are like me--can't stand clumpy mascara! Well, I LOVE Arbonne's Lash Colour. It doesn't clump up, plus it has a primer that conditions and preps your lashes and a water-resistant lash color all in one! It comes in 2 colors: black or brown/black. It retails at $22, but since you are a fellow Mama, you are more than welcome to have it at my discount, 35%. The cost would be $14.30 plus tax. As a bonus, Arbonne offers a 45 day moeny-back guarantee, so you can't lose!

Have a wonderful day!

I love Lancome Le'Extreme mascarav with a Cils Booster. The booster goes underneath the mascara and definitely lengthens and separates your eye lashes. I am almost certain they offer a money back guarantee if you do not like it. I am addicted to both of them and have been for several years. Good Luck!

Try Lancome's mascara. It is the best. It separates lashes and does not clump. It's kind of expensive, about $28. If you don't want to spend the money on it just yet you could try buying something else you might need and trying out the trial size mascara that comes with the free gift. Just a thought.

Lancome' mascara is the best. I use Hypnose but they have mascaras for all eyelash types! They cost $22.50 if I'm not mistaken but it is worth the price.

Hi, I purchased Maybellines new 2 step mascara and it is wonderful. I actually bought it at Sam's. The package was $8 (that is why I tried it, no big investment). It came with 2 regular and 1 waterproof. You apply the white side first and then the black. It goes on smoothly and defines well. It doesn't smudge and washes off easily. One last good thing, it didn't dry out in the tube. There are many great brands out there. JMHO, Nana

It may sound silly, but Avon has a new mascara out and it is awesome. Light, but perfectly thick. Not hard to take off either. I've tried Clinique, Estee Lauder and Mary Kay and they all have great mascara but they are more difficult to take off than the Avon I'm using now. Good luck to you, you'll find a great one. If you do get one from a cosmetic counter make sure to get the eye make up remover from them as well, it'll help!

Lancome is the number one seller of mascara and it is the best in my opinion. Lancome makes a mascara named Hypnose that is a great volumizer. I prefer the non-waterproof version. I order my mascara, a couple tubes at a time, from www.ebay.com and don't pay more than the retail price of one tube even with shipping cost. I have made several purchases from different sellers and have always received quality sealed authentic tubes they were just lacking the box.

Definicils is the top seller; however, it lengthens and does not give the volume that I wish to achieve.

Look at Lancome's website for full descriptions of each. The counter is a good suggestion also; however, they rarely have testers of more than definicils.

Essentially there is not a great deal of difference between the higher end mascaras and those we can grab at the drug store. What will make a difference, IMHO, is he application.

I just use great lash. It's the tried and true Maybelline stand by. I however, am blessed with big lashes, they are simply blonde in color.

It sounds to me like you are looking for a fuller more luxirious look. One way to achieve this might be to invest in some false lashes. You may be thinking that this is more trouble then you wish to get in to, however, for that special glamour gal look that might be just wath the doctor ordered.

Here's a link to a nice , inexpensive set of fabulous fakes from Wallgreen's...

Good luck with your search to be more glamorous. But remember, sometimes more is just more.

Hi,
I recently purchased a mascara from chanel that volumizes and curls. I too have had a problem with short fine lashes so I purchased the initimable mascara from chanel. I am really impressed it volumizes and does not leave clumps. Good Luck.

I love Lancome Definicils. I try new mascaras and always end up back at the Lancome counter. Do not buy it from Costco (not even sure if they sell it anymore). It is not the same. I bought it a couple of years ago and had to return it. The lady at the Lancome counter said that sometimes people try to sell off brands with the Lancome name.

Good luck.

i used to work at the lancome counter in college (fun, fun, fun job!) and once i tried their mascara, i was hooked! it's awesome, but definitely expensive. if money isn't an option, i would go with the cils booster lash conditioner with either definicils or hypnosis mascara. the lash conditioner will coat and protect your lashes (like regular conditioner does for hair) and will also give them some volume. after it dries, apply one of their mascaras (i like hypnosis). lastly, don't underestimate the power of the eyelash curler! although it looks painful, when you use it correctly, it doesn't hurt at all. you want to get as close as possible to the base of your lashes without accidentially pinching your eyelid in the process. you can warm the curler slightly in your hand or very very very briefly with a hairdryer (be careful!!). all of this really does make a difference! oh, and the heated eyelash curlers at sephora don't work. ok, i obviously know way too much about eyelash products :) good luck!
