Need More Indoor Activities for Busy Toddler

My 19 month-old son is VERY busy and active. His favorite thing in the whole world is to be outside, but with the colder weather starting to set in, that's not always possible. We now live in Northbrook, and while the Kohl Children's Museum and Gymboree are nearby, the Northbrook library is not very interactive (not at all like the Elk Grove Village and Schaumburg libraries). I need more indoor activites for him to do outside of our home (where things are just so boring for him) and preferably with little to no expense.

What can I do next?

Have you been to Northbrook Court? In the middle of the mall there is a play treehouse where the kids can play. It is gated, and a great way to burn a little energy on a bad weather day.

Also, check out Wagner Farm in Glenview. In the main barn, there are some toddler friendly activities like milking a pretend cow, collecting plastic chicken eggs etc. It is run by the Glenview Park District and free.

The Wilmette Library has a nice kids section on the second floor.

There is an indoor playroom in Skokie called The Exploratorium. I think it is closed for renovations right now, but should be openning back up soon. It is part of the Skokie Park District, so check their website for info.

Pump It Up in Glenview has pop in playtime on Tuesday and Wednesday. SOooo much fun!

Hope those ideas help out!

We have loved Little Village Play Place in Arlington Heights. Perfect for little ones on the move.
