I am constantly tired and have no energy. It is starting to effect all aspects of my life as well as my relationship with my kids and my husband. I have been to the doctor and tested for thyroid problems, depression, etc. Everything came back normal. Does anyone have any recommendations for vitamins, diet changes or anything to help obtain more energy so I can get back to a normal life.

What can I do next?

Taking a trace mineral supplement really helped me. They taste horrible, but make a world of difference.

I'm not really a nutrition buff, so I don't have any supplemental or diet recommendations for you. But if you hadn't thought about it, maybe consider Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I had a friend in high school with that and it could get pretty debilitating to her daily routines and responsibilities. Ask your doctor about it if you haven't already considered it. Good luck to you.

I heard something on the radio about adrenal wear out. Sounded a bit like your symptoms. It might be worth asking your doctor about. I'm not sure of the exact diagnosis.

I have 3 suggestions that have helped me:

1. drink more water, like at least two 32-ounce bottles a day
2. take a B vitamin supplement
3. check out www.juiceplus.com

I also stopped drinking coffee and switched to green tea instead because my chiropractor said my adrenal glands were being fatigued. She was right! What a difference that has made for me.

Are you eating regularly? I hate eating breakfast after waking and sometimes I get busy and forget. I don't eat a regular lunch either. I have had to really concentrate on eating something little in the morning, a small, healthy snack, mid-morning, lunch or another small healthy snack in the mid afternoon. I always eat dinner since I cook for my son and husband. I find my energy really flags if I slip and do not eat regularly. Regular exercise lifts mood and metabolism, too. Maybe when your older child is at school, take the baby for a stroller walk everyday.

I also suffer from depression; some days I just can't get going or I just want to sleep in the afternoon. I know you said you 'tested' for depression and it came back normal. Depression can't be detected, just the symptoms can be observed. When I sought help for depression, it was mostly because I had no energy to deal with my family, work, anything. I'm not saying you ARE depressed, but it can be very subtle. If your lack of energy and your moods are affecting your relationships, you may want to explore the depression issue further. Meds are not the answer for everyone and it can take a long time to find the correct one for your body. All I can say is that my daily medication has made me a wife and mother again!

I wish you luck and peace! I hope you feel better soon!

I feel your pain. I can say what has been working for me is drinking a TON of water and I have been making green tea in iced form and drinking that during the day. I find myself dragging by mid afternoon and needed to start losing weight. I started walking more and drinking a ton more water even when I didn't think I needed any water I drank water and it helped me feel energized. I also have been taking a daily women multi vitamin. You would be surprised how water and green tea has helped me pep up and get motivated!

E.,
I have the same problem at times-I have noticed that my iron is low. You may want to check that out- I just take over the counter iron- one per day & it really helps my fatigue.

Diet and exercise really help as well. Especially exercise. I would recommend eating every 2-3 hours- healthy food (Fruits, veggies, but make sure you are eating protein with your meals, you need the protein for your muscles and you need carbs to carry the protein to your muscles, don't forget to add healthy fat- like almonds in there too.) Drink lots of water- about 96 oz per day- crystal light works too. Exercise about 3-4 times per week, take a good multi vitamin, and get at least 8 hours of sleep each night,. Fatigue may be multiple things for you. My husband & I own a nutrition and exercise consulting company called Total Health & Fitness. We also have supplements available- my favorite are the energy bites- chocalate caramel- they are soooo good. They give you a little extra energy throughout your day. You can check out our blog at thfonlineblogspot.com and you also can check us out on Member perks to get a free initial consult & 10% off any program purchase. We do offer phone consults if that is something you'd be interested in a specific program for you.
Best wishes.

I have a friend who has chronic fatigue syndrome. It sounds like what you might have. Ask your doctor to check you out for that.

Hi, Try StemEnhance. www.Abundantjoy.stemtechbiz.com
It has been a remarkable product for me. As we age our stem cells (which are responsible for healing in our body) slow down. Stem Enhance nourishes the stem cells and they start reproducing again. This product has taken away my aches and pains, has given me a sense of well being, and more energy. Hope you will try it too.

Best Regards,
C.

Hi E.,
I too had issues with lack of energy, I just wanted to lay down and "rest" with my eyes closed all the time. I started researching vitamins and supplements a little over a year ago and was purchasing some from the health food store and from an online source. I was getting better and then stumbled upon Shaklee and did a comparsion of their products and changed over.
I really feel that I was border-line Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Fibromyalgia (undiagnosed). I no longer have those symptoms now that I have been using Shaklee supplements. Here's a link to their Vitalizer daily supplement system, which I would suggest, along with Soy Protein.
Call or email me, if you'd like further info.
