I will share my first thought with you. I believe you are pregnant and wondered instantly what kind of awesome contribution this baby will make to the world since it was conceived against all odds. Must have wanted to be here and to be with you very badly.

Wow, sounds like you are preggo! I don't think it's really possible to get false positives like that on a pregnancy test. Good luck!

You certainly have a lot of good advice here! I agree with most of the posters that first, go NOW to the doctor and make sure it's a pregnancy, and that it's not ectopic.
Then, depending on who you are, what you believe, and what you can handle, decide if you will abort, carry the baby to term and place for adoption, or have your sixth child. I don't believe "things happen for a reason." I think "sh-t happens," and you just have to deal with it, one way or the other. The issue is whether you can deal with a sixth child.
And finally, yes, it's time for your husband to have a vasectomy!

It's very rare but it has been known to happen. Also after a vasectomy.
I'd go to your doctor right away though because the chance of an ectopic (in the tubes) pregnancy is greater than if you hadn't had them tied.
I can't remember off the top of my head if there are other conditions that can cause a positive pregnancy test and the symptoms, but seeing your doctor will be a good place to find out.
Once you know for sure what's going on then you can look at all your options and figure out what's best for you and your family.
Good luck.
Edited to add: It probably wasn't a "botched" job by the doctor. The tubes can sometimes grow back together on their own, even as far as 10 years down the line after having a tubal. It's not anything the doctor did "wrong" or "messed up" ... it's just one of those rare things that happens.

do not have a "Tubal or Etopic pregnancy"...

All I know is when I had my tubes tied the Dr. said "I have to let you know that about one in every 299 women who have this procedure come back pregnant later". So, if you are, and it sounds like a good possibility that you are, consider yourself a one in 299 statistic. Be happy, because there must be a good reason for you to have another child with that type of odds against it.

Congrats on #6!
I worked for a gynecologist who's 2nd daughter was the product of a post-tubal procedure!! Just get checked out to make sure the baby is in the right place and congrats.
I love when babies overcome the odds and show up, it enforces that every person has a purpose on this earth! (Celine Dion was #10 or 12 and her mother almost aborted, oh how different things turned out!!)
Your post did freak me out because I had a tubal 1 1/2 years ago and am late on my cycle! :-) I may be the next to post for encouragement!
Take care!

Yep, very possible!!! I know someone who's son was born last summer and she'd had her tubes tied. Unfortunately, nothing is ever 100%.... (here's to hoping our vasectomy holds!!) Good luck to you in your journey!
