I have a great recipe for peanut butter noodles. If he can chew well with his other teeth (on soft noodles), this is great and filling. Just let me know if you're interested and I'll type up the recipe for you! D.

Just cut up the food like hot dogs put it in his mouth and he can chew it with his back teeth.

Carrot sticks he can bite off with his back teeth.
Use apples cut up rather than whole.

But bananas and other food you would give him when he was teething are good too.

Kids are very adaptive, if he want to eat it he can find a way. Just make sure to keep giving the same balanced diet.

It did not seem like too long a week to a month or so maybe that it took for teeth to come back in. Usually you could see the next tooth with in a few days.

Just don't give him corn on the cob! Last night I had to keep telling my daughter to try and finish her corn normally. She was picking at it with the little corn on the cob holders. Finally she smiled and said, "I CAN NOT EAT IT!!" Forgot the poor kid didn't have any top front teeth. Well, I am no help here! Just saw your post...I'm with you on this one!

His diet shouldn't have to change much. All of his chewing is done with his back teeth--just help him out by giving him his regular food cut up so he doesn't have to try and bite with his front teeth.

HI M.!

We just had same thing going on with 3 loose teeth in front. It was pretty uncomfortable until they came out so tell David to hang in there. My l'il guy actually lost his first front tooth biting into a hamburger at school.

I found that it was enough if I just cut up his food into smaller portions. I cut sandwiches into quarters and pizza into smaller strips or pieces that he could pop into his mouth and not have to bite into them with his front teeth.

Tell him the more he moves them, the faster they will come out!

Tell Mike and boys hello for me! Maybe we could plan something for this summer - I have some funny missing tooth pics - I'll post them on Facebook soon.

Hugs,

C.

My twins last summer has the same thing. I was amazed, they ate everything...including corn on the cob. I was really pretty funny though, we laugh alot. Eventuly, I just cut it off the cob, that was easier.

New teeth take awhile. Remember, he can still chew - he has the rest of his teeth - he just can't bite. No need to put him on a soft food diet. Just change the form of his food. For example. cut corn instead of corn on the cob. Cooked carrots instead of raw. Cut veggies instead of asparagus spears and celery sticks. Salad is a tough one - pieces need to be really small. Steamed veggies are good. Cut apples instead of whole ones. Meat cut into pieces instead of chicken legs and burgers. Macaroni instead of spaghetti. My daughter spent most of her 6 y.o. summer without front teeth.
