Hi ladies!

My sister-in-law is expecting and I need your help with some ideas for games to play at her shower. The last shower I was at was over 8 years ago, so I need a refresher course! Any suggestions are much appreciated! Thanks! :)

What can I do next?

The dice game is a classic. You can do a word find or a word scramble about babies. A quiz about taking care of babies in general, or the names of celebrity babies, or family history.
At my cousin's shower, as the guests arrived they got a paper diaper to write their name on and pin on their shirt with a safety pin...that is a cute way to display a name by itself, but also, inside the folded paper diaper was a little piece of cotton that was marked with a marker...most of them were yellow [pee] but when we did the games we all opened them and the couple of people who had brown [signifying poop] got a small gift.
One thing I thought of is to do a kind of bingo, where there are blank bingo cards [without the numbers] that you would print out and the guests would fill in...in each spot they would write down what they think you are getting for presents [bottles, diapers, thermometer, etc] and then as you open them, they would mark off their papers and the "bingo" winners would get a small gift.
Here is another site that has some ideas:

Hi J.,

At my sister-in-law's shower we played quite a few of the regulars like "Never say Baby" where we all had a baby diaper pin with several other little pins on it, and if we said baby, whoever "caught" us we had to give them a pin. And the person with the most pins at the end of the shower got a prize. Also, we did the "finish the nursery rhyme game" but my favorite that I found on the baby shower 101 website is the "Baby Shower Memory Game" where you put matches scattered about a poster board and when someone makes a match, they win a candy bar with corresponding meaning.

Check out this website! (my fav game is #60)

Hope this helps!

Talk to your sister-in-law and ask her if there are any games that she is interested in. Otherwise, I say skip them!
No one likes the games at baby showers and wedding showers! Just have a nice get together without games - it's so much nicer just to get together and visit. Especially now that we're in the summer months, a nice garden tea or party would be so much more fun than playing those games! I actually have nothing AGAINST traditional baby showers, but being someone whose friends are all at baby-bearing age, I can't even tell you how annoying it is to play the same games over and over again.
Good luck - I hope your party turns out wonderfully!

I have a couple favorites... One is where you find songs with the word baby in the title, play them and the guests have to guess the name of the song. Another is the candy bar in the diaper where you melt it in the microwave and they have to guess the candy bar. And for mine we played "Brady" (or Bingo) which was the name we picked. They just took pictures of baby stuff and made different boards and we used little necco wafers for the chips.
