Need Ideas for 3 Year Old Birthday Party
My son is really into Madagascar and fire engines. His birthday is in February and I am trying to plan a party for him, but my invite list is around 30 people (family + a few friends)and now I am thinking this is too many to have at my house. Do any of you know of any affordable places I might be able to have a party?

Hi A.,
I'm a Mom of 4 so have given lots of parties for our own children. I like the time when they are young and the parents & Grandparents stay.
I don't know if you are in Columbus, Ohio but our primary business is birthday parties at our art/music studio, Studio J in Powell. We are new so right now are even including goodie bags with 15 children for $179.00. You just bring cake and jucie. You can check out our website at www.studiojsingpaintplay.com. There's no charge for parents & grandparents of course. There's also an option to rent it for $50.00 an hour and do your own party. We are a
Mom owned business here on Mamasource too so there is a coupon. I would be happy for you to see the studio. :)

Go to your local fire station. The one in Westerville hosted a friend's son's party and it was great. Tons of people and kids there for not a lot of money. Best of all, they got to play on the engine, try on the uniforms and have a real firefighter tell them about safety. (I thought it was great that they told the kids that if they ever saw a fireman in their house, to make sure not to hide, but to come right to them.) It was a blast.

Another Westerville suggestion- Westerville Christian Church on College Avenue. They have a huge indoor playground that you can rent out for $75 (and $50 of that is a deposit I believe). It's enclosed and clean with a bathroom and kid tables and chairs and plenty of adult seating around the edges. You bring the food and drink and that's it. We've been there to play several times (they have free play times for the oublic throughout the week) and we went to a birthday party there- we had a great time.

I also live in the Columbus area. Have you thought about Danoto's(sp) or City BBQ. I know in Reynoldsburg/Pataskala area these places have a party room. I think that they are free. But, I'm not sure. What about McDonald's with a playplace? Or even a local bowling alley? We have been looking also. My son's birthday is in April. Almost everything else ie: Cosi, Coco Key, Fort Rapids are all so expensive!
