YOu can just buy the cheap shampoo and add tablespoon to it. Lice dosent seem to like it. After you wash it rinse it off then condition it with tea tree oil added in conditioner. Also helps on fungus of nail beds on toes. You can buy the expensive stuff and all it has is just small amount of tea tree oil in it. Also Tea tree oil can be used for many things,. You can also use it diluted on dogs prevent fleas. Hope this helps.

What i've found is to add 10 drops of tea tree oil to 1 cup of olive oil, let set on hair for 2 hours then comb(fine tooth) and wash. Also, you can add tea tree oil to your shampoo/conditioner to help keep them away. I also just read an article that said to add a drop to your brush before brushing your hair to help keep them at bay. Best bet? when you go to get your tea tree oil, ask customer assistance about it, they'll most likely have plenty of information for you.
whoops! almost forgot...it will most likely take more than one treatment to get rid of them totally, due to the growing cycle of lice(and this is generally true whether you use a chemical shampoo as well).

NO! Don't drink it!
Bathe, wash hair, clothes, bedding to get rid of and in the future prevent recurring infestations. I know of a product line that has tea tree oil in all I've mentioned and would be happy to share details with you.
